Bumped heavily on jumping away, and was then buffeted shortly after the start. Jockey B. Pengelly reported that the gelding, which was having its first start, failed to travel strongly at any stage of the race and, when placed under pressure in the home straight ran on only fairly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting an abnormal upper respiratory noise. On this advice, Stewards advised Trainer J. Crompton that she will be required to produce a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to next racing, including the results of an endoscopic examination.
