Byrne stated that it was not his intention to lead, however, after beginning fairly he allowed the mare to stride forward to obtain a position closer to the fence. When quest re perf. rdr stated mount travelled strongly in early & middle stages. Rdr stated when asked to improve app h/turn mount responded only fairly & failed to let down strongly in straight. Tnr advised geld worked well & he was confident. Tnr stated only excuse he could make was gelds best form is on rain affected going & it did not appreciate dryer conditions today. Tnr undertook to provide blood results & report anything amiss in coming days. Tnr added he would assess how geld pulled up before making a decison on immediate racing future. P/R vet exam found no ab's.

Rounding h/turn became held up on heels & was unable to improve until 300m. When quest re poor perf. rdr stated that as the start was affected his mount dropped its head and consequently was slow to begin (2L). Rdr added after the manner it began, and the fact it was back 250m in distance today, his mount was obliged to settle at the tail of the field and it failed to sprint strongly on straightening. Rdr stated that his mounts form to date indicates that the gelding races best when able to lead uncontested over a longer journey and it appreciates track conditions softer than that today.
