A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. As the horse was uncompetitive in today’s event, a warning was placed against it. Following the running of this event jockey D. Smith was examined by the doctor after injuring his left foot and was stood down from his remaining engagements and will require a doctor’s certificate prior to riding again.

Allen advised that the gelding did not travel confidently at any stage on the tight turning circuit, and had a tendency to run off the track on the turns, however he could offer no other explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no apparent abnormalities.
