Shifted in and brushed the running rail near the 800m. When questioned regarding tactics today, specifically her decision to restrain in the middle stages, M Castle stated instructions were to be positive out of the barriers however after being pressured by runners to the outside she elected to restrain and obtain cover which resulted in WALSHIE racing in a midfield position on the rails. M Castle, rider of WALSHIE, was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted.

Inclined to hang out for a short distance. Leaving the 1050m, was placed in restricted room, clipped heels and lost ground when SCHAPPOSE shifted in.
