Better Call Saul  | Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards viewed the patrol film to ascertain the circumstances surrounding a towel being entangled around the leg of the Jockey. It was established that when the gelding was fractious in the barriers, the Jockey used a towel to wipe the sweat from the neck of the gelding, and when a start was effected the towel became entangled around his leg and did not become detached until after the 600 metres.  | Townsville  | 17/01/2016  | |

Wishful  | When questioned as to whether there was an opportunity to improve her position approaching the home turn, Apprentice said that she had been instructed to ride the mare where it was comfortable, and not to contest the lead if the tempo was solid. She felt the leader, had gone hard in front and she envisaged that it would weaken, so she desisted from riding her mount along at the home turn, electing to let it straighten and balance up before placing it under full pressure. She agreed with the view of stewards that she had erred by not placing her mount under pressure earlier.   |

Nudgee  | When questioned regarding her riding, Apprentice explained that the gelding was standing awkwardly in the barrier and was slow to begin. She said that, bearing in mind that her instructions were to lead, rather than attempt to restrain her mount she said that as the gelding has a tendency to pull, she allowed it to stride forward around the field where it was able to take up a favourable position throughout the middle stages.  | Townsville  | 23/01/2016  | |
