Sussex Street  In the float en route to the course sustained a minor laceration to the off foreleg, was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. On returning to scale Jockey reported that the mare failed to travel comfortably at any stage and in his opinion did not handle the soft track conditions.

Alakris (NZ)  Obliged to steady away from heels near the 1800m. Jockey then elected to push forward to take up a position in the lead near the 1500m. When questioned regarding the reason for him shifting off the fence when leading from the 600m, , Jockey explained it was his intention to shift wider approaching and rounding the home turn as it was his view that when the rail was in the true position racing towards the middle of the track is more advantageous. King Cobia  When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, which was below market expectations, Apprentice explained that he had been instructed to ride the gelding in a forward position, however when another runner improved to his inside, his mount was inclined to race keenly throughout and was a beaten horse prior to straightening for home. Trainer expressed disappointment with the performance, however was of the opinion that the gelding will be better suited in races over shorter distances.
