Apprentice Thomson stated that her instructions were to attempt to obtain a forward position from the wide barrier, however she was also of the opinion she may have gone too hard. However, App Thomson was mindful of further instructions to not restrain her mount due to a tendency for the horse to over race.

Was buffeted at the start between GOLD TORQUE, which jumped outwards, and COLLYWOBBLE, and as a result, CARDA MOJO lost ground. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, jockey J. Stanley stated that he had been informed the horse was racing well and was expected it to perform well, that the horse may get back in the race and was able to perform best when able to get to the outside of the field.
