Coup D'etat  Shifted out nearing the 800m and bumped another runner. Inquiry re rider C. Maund shifting wider on the home turn, giving clear running for the favourite Super Coach to his inside. C. Maund said his instructions were to ensure he was the widest runner in the home straight as the horse has shown a tendency to resent racing inside of other runners. He added he may have erred in shifting as wide as he did, but was trying to fulfil his instructions. Stewards advised jockey Maund they felt he had erred, but given the margin between first and second, they did not take further action.

Freton  Connections advised that the horse would be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly, however, near the 1300m, due to the slow tempo, its rider elected to shift out and allow the gelding to stride forward to find the lead at the 1200m.  Doomben  11/04/2015
