Rider advised that after being caught wide in the early stages, he was forced to pressure his mount more than he wanted to obtain its customary forward position. He added that the mare travelled comfortably in the middle stages, however when placed under pressure proved disappointing. Trainer expressed some disappointment in the performance, but did advise that given the work the horse was forced to do in the early stages and that it was 5 weeks between runs, it would derive a fitness advantage from today's run and he will continue with its preparation. Vetted post-race, no abnormalities. |
