Bay Duke  Shifted in on jumping and made contact with another runner shortly after the start. Had to be steadied from heels when overracing approaching the 600m. Queen of the Ark  Jockey could offer no explanation for the horse's disappointing performance. Trainer expressed disappointment with the performance of the mare, which was having its first start in his stable tonight. He added that the horse had had a long campaign prior to entering his stable and as such, based on the performance tonight, advised that he would send the horse for a spell. Brave Dazzler  When questioned regarding the horse's improved performance, trainer reported that he was expecting a forward showing at the gelding's previous start at Doomben, however the tempo of the race on that occasion did not suit and the performance was disappointing.
