Rider questioned regarding tactics in the early stages whereby after being slow to begin he rode his mount vigorously around the field and ultimately raced in a wide position throughout the event when there appeared to be an opportunity to obtain a position closer to the rails in a more rearward position. Sagacious Rose  Laid in under pressure in the home straight.  Warwick  20/02/2016 
Sir Gallen  Rider questioned concerning the performance of heavily supported favourite SIR GALLEN. He reported that SIR GALLEN raced further back than he expected and resented the sand kickback. He added SIR GALLEN then ran on fairly to the line. Explanation noted.

Zany Lass  Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

Baroness Zeena  Bumped shortly after the start. When questioned regarding the performance jockey stated that his mount travelled fairly in the early stages however was under pressure to maintain its position from the 600m. He added that his mount failed to sprint in the straight and in his opinion raced like a tired horse. When questioned, trainer stated that on return to scale the mare had its tongue over the bit. She added
that she would experiment with gear on the mare and give it a freshen up prior to its next race start. A post race veterinary examination of the mare did not reveal any abnormality.

Tangara  Questioned re disappointing performance. Rider stated despite travelling well in ealry and middle stages failed to respond when placed under pressure leaving 500m and proved dissapointing. Of the view mare had come to the end of its preperation. Trainer confirmed it would be sent for a spell. Vet exam - no apparent abnormalities.  Gold Coast  26/12/2015

Caracas  When questioned regarding the horse's seemingly improved performance, trainer K. Kemp stated that the mare had not appreciated racing on the cushion track at its most recent start and he also noted that the mare had raced well at a similar distance at Doomben on 1 January 2016 and 2 starts prior to that over 2200m and in his opinion had appreciated the distance of today's event.  Ipswich  21/02/2016

Not a Bad Joker  Checked passing 1100m. Rider could offer no tangible
explanation for today's performance adding his mount raced very keenly in the early stages but
had compounded before the home turn and had been very disappointing. A veterinary
examination did not detect any abnormalities.
