when questioned regarding tactics adopted, app H Philips stated that after being slow to begin and caught wide she elected to press forward and eventually obtain the lead near the 900 metres before applying further pressure near the 400 metres which then resulted in OAKFIELD SUNSET weakening over the concluding stages of the event. After viewing the DVD replay, app Philips concurred with stewards that in hindsight it would have been more beneficial to steady and hold the position outside the leader near the 1000 metres and give OAKFIELD SUNSET an opportunity to finish the race off more strong

Trainer expressed disappointment in performance after it performed well in an unofficial trial leading into today’s event and was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance after the horse had pulled up well following the race and indicated that he would continue with its current prep.
