Oakfield Sunset when questioned regarding tactics adopted, app H Philips stated that after being slow to begin and caught wide she elected to press forward and eventually obtain the lead near the 900 metres before applying further pressure near the 400 metres which then resulted in OAKFIELD SUNSET weakening over the concluding stages of the event. After viewing the DVD replay, app Philips concurred with stewards that in hindsight it would have been more beneficial to steady and hold the position outside the leader near the 1000 metres and give OAKFIELD SUNSET an opportunity to finish the race off more strong Esk 01/07/2017
Ravaillion Overraced in the early stages and shifted wider on the track rounding the turn near the 1300m, and as a result raced wide from that point. Toowoomba 03/06/2017

Bold Crusader On returning to scale, jockey N. Thomas reported that after finding the leading position his mount made the turn near the 700m awkwardly and, as a result, shifted wider on the track. He added that this resulted in LONGING FOR improving to his inside and he was forced to race in a one-off position for the remainder of the event. Toowoomba 03/06/2017

Batten Inconvenienced by another runner passing 250m. Raced wide throughout. Rider questioned re disappointing performance - unable to offer any tangible explanation. Vetted - no abnormalities. Trainer expressed disappointment in performance after it performed well in an unofficial trial leading into today’s event and was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance after the horse had pulled up well following the race and indicated that he would continue with its current prep. Trump It Slow to begin. Steadied from heels shortly after the start, and resented being restrained in the early stages. Forced wider on the track by another runner passing the 800m. Toowoomba 02/07/2017
Real Mystique Near the 300m laid in, causing RHYMING to be steadied when placed in restricted room for a short distance. A post race veterinary examination revealed abrasions to the off hind bumper and a laceration to the near hind canon. Rockhampton 24/06/2017

Last Armageddon Tightened for room at the start. The horse was accidentally struck on the head by another rider’s whip leaving the 300m. Toowoomba 04/03/2017
Jimibramz On returning to scale apprentice S. Sweeney reported that after being caught wide in the early stages she elected to restrain her mount to a position one off the fence near the 900m, however from this point to a point near the 600m her mount was off the bit and lost ground. She added that the gelding began to travel strongly near the 600m, and ran home well over the concluding stages. Toowoomba 04/03/2017

Clang Again raced wide for the majority of the event. App J Hodge was reprimanded for allowing the gelding to shift in near the 500 metres tightening QUATTRO FANTASTICO. Ruler's Pride Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground and, as a result, settled further back in the field than anticipated. Overraced in the early stages and raced wide without cover throughout. Toowoomba 02/07/2017

Pure Whisper Jockey reported gelding blundered badly on 2 occasions passing 600m and again leaving 500m and as such was reluctant to place it under pressure in home straight. Added in his opinion gelding failed to handle today’s heavy conditions. Trainer agreed with jockey's comments. Gold Coast 08/07/2017
