Velleity Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as the horse was racing first up after twelve months, and was passed fit to start. On return to scale, jockey K. Yoshida advised that as the horse was first up from a significant spell it would derive a significant fitness benefit from tonight’s run and, in his opinion, would also be suited by the addition of blinkers. Sweet Red Wine Inclined to lay in passing the 1000m, despite the efforts of its rider. Raced wide throughout. Had to be steadied rounding the home turn when buffeted between TURQUOISE, which shifted in, and STREETSUSS, which shifted out slightly. Lillanliv Commenced to overrace after passing the 1200m, had to be steadied away from heels and in doing so shifted in, making contact with GIFTOFLIFE. Ipswich 04/08/2017
Alsidereus Steadied to avoid the heels of another runner, which was laying in despite the best efforts of its rider, at the 150m. Toowoomba 05/08/2017
Casual Dude App. Brand was permitted to ride a half kilogram overweight as no other rider was available. Thangool 22/07/2017
Shadow Empire Bumped by another runner when exiting the home straight on the first occasion and then commenced to hang out and shifted wider on the track. Bumped another runner near the 1200m. Raced wide throughout. Toowoomba 22/07/2017
Canungra Kid Raced three wide in the early stages before pressing forward passing the 1000m to obtain the lead. Raced greenly and shifted out under pressure passing the 200m and again shifted out approaching the 100m, making contact with KEEN TIARA, which in turn bumped heavily with HEAT SHIELD which was racing to the outside. Five Spices Bounded on jumping resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced. Coffs Harbour 23/07/2017
Choice Son Began awkwardly and made heavy contact with DODGE THE PRESS. Raced three wide for the majority of the event. Ipswich 21/07/2017
Clever Chloe Slow to begin and raced in the second half of the field. On returning to scale rider could offer no tangible explanation for disappointing performance of the mare. Trainer advised in light of performance would review current preparation, which may include a spell. Vetted - no abnormalities. Ipswich 19/04/2017

Final Performance Raced wide throughout. Apprentice S. Lacy reported at scale that each time she attempted to improve on the horse, which raced greenly throughout, the colt was inclined to shift ground and as a result she was prevented from fully testing her mount over the final stages. Dress Sense Had to be steadied near the 1200m after improving on to the heels of BIANCATAK. A short distance later had to be restrained when racing keenly. Held up for a short distance approaching the 400m. Gatton 28/07/2017
