A post-race veterinary examination of the mare, which weakened over the concluding stages, revealed no significant findings. Apprentice E. Ljung could offer no explanation for the mare’s disappointing performance. Trainer J. Dann expressed disappointment in the performance. Mr Dann advised Stewards that in the days following the event the mare was found to be suffering from a virus and was treated accordingly.

Raced awkwardly shortly after the start and lost ground. Made contact with the running rail and had to be checked when tightened for room near the 900m. Stewards inquired into this incident and were satisfied that the tightening was caused when RELIABLE LASS (B. Stewart) shifted in despite the efforts of its rider at that point of the race and no further action was taken.
