Better Than Silver Raced in restricted room for a short distance shortly after the start. Clipped heels and blundered near the 900m when HAZ DE BEE shifted out despite the efforts of its rider whilst racing greenly. Raced greenly in the middle stages. Apprentice J. Huxtable reported that after clipping heels shortly after the start the filly failed to travel from that point. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly revealed no significant findings. Edradour Hampered shortly after the start. After passing the 600m, the gelding commenced to weaken and was retired out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer D. Groves was advised that prior to resuming racing, the gelding must perform satisfactorily in a trial. Trainer D. Groves advised Stewards that he would also have his veterinary surgeon examine the gelding, and provide a veterinary clearance to Stewards prior to racing again. Toowoomba 18/04/2020

Ruff It Up When overracing badly in the early stages had to be steadied to avoid heels near the 850m when GETYOURGREYON shifted in. Whilst stewards accepted that the racing manners of RUFF IT UP contributed to this incident, stewards advised jockey J. Byrne, rider of GETYOURGREYON, to exercise more care in similar circumstances. After receiving interference near the 850m continued to overrace and shifted out to avoid heel near the 700m and raced wide from that point onwards. Trainer Mr K. Empire Day Rider questioned re riding specifically racing in a forward position and lack of vigour over final 100m - stated whilst not instructed to lead elected to allow mount to improve forward after racing in a wide position from its wide barrier and was of the opinion the gelding was not suited to this pattern of racing as it compounded in the home straight. Electric Ellyse When the pace of the race steadied approaching the 1200m, the gelding commenced to race keenly and was shifted to a 3 wide position to improve, and obtained the lead passing the 900m. Toowoomba 18/04/2020

Open Road Had to be resaddled upon arriving at the barriers. Improved onto the heels of ANIMAL INSTINCT passing the 1200m, and had to be eased and shift wider on the track to secure clear running. Ipswich 19/04/2020
Maquereau Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Overraced passing the 900m and had to be restrained from heels. When racing in restricted room approaching the 500m, the gelding shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of MAJOR LUCK and, as a result, became unbalanced and lost ground. Ipswich 13/04/2020

Fusi Fox Commenced to weaken after passing the 400m and finished in a rearward position. Jockey T. Gray advised that the gelding may have got its tongue over the bit during the race. Trainer J. Miss Cavallo When questioned by Stewards regarding the tactics adopted, Apprentice N. Keal advised that his instructions were to settle in a midfield position with cover today if possible. He added that, after beginning well, due to the lack of early speed in the race he was unable to restrain his mount to obtain cover, and he elected to sit in the position outside the leader. Commander Sara Hung out rounding the home turn and shifted wider on the track. When questioned by Stewards in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance, jockey J. Oliver advised that, in his opinion, the gelding race greenly throughout and did not travel at any stage of the race. Write The Rules After beginning from a wide barrier and being ridden forward to cross runners to its inside, the filly refused to settle and raced keenly once it found the lead passing the 1000m, and again refused to settle passing the 800m when pressured by ABB ROY, which was racing to its outside. Tricky Mix Stewards questioned trainer T. Gollan regarding the seeming improved performance of the winner TRICKY MIX. He stated at the horse’s most recent start it had been caught wide and overraced, which was detrimental to the horse’s performance.
