Purslane when questioned regarding the poor performance to be beaten 26 lengths rider P Romeo stated the filly struggled to maintain a position in the early stages of the event and near the 600 metres commenced to weaken despite his urgings. He added in his opinion PURSLANE did not appreciate today’s firm track surface. Trainer K Munce advised stewards the filly would now be spelled.
