After being caught wide in the early stages progressed forward to lead the event from the 1200 metres. Rounding the home turn steadied from the heels of CLUSTERFEST which shifted out. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

Slow to begin. When asked to comment on the disappointing performance rider K Gates stated the gelding never travelled at any stage of the event. Trainer B Gill advised LITTLE DRUMMER BOY may not have appreciated today’s prevailing track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
