Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Stewards and Veterinarians have today conducted examinations of entries in the Jeep Magic Millions Two year old Classic and Three year old Guineas.
The following horses were identified with veterinary issues that will require a further examination tomorrow morning.
Tiara Star – Found to be lame in the near fore fetlock joint upon flexion when examined on Tuesday and again this morning. Connections will be afforded a further 24 hours to determine if there is any improvement, at which point a decision will be made on the filly’s ability to take its place in the field, if required as the first emergency.
Winning Rupert – Slightly short striding in the near foreleg. At the time of the examination, the near fore hoof contained hoof filler which will be present on race day and has been present at its previous starts this campaign.
Miss Wonderland – Slightly lame in the off fore leg.
Pipeline – Slightly short striding in the off fore leg.
Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Stewards advise that all horses entered to compete at the Gold Coast on Saturday 14 January 2017 will only be required on course one hour before the advertised start time of each race due to the expected heat conditions.
