RACE 1: LANDMARK CHINCHILLA WOMEN IN RACING/BATTLE OF BULLECOURT MAIDEN PLATE – 1030M
MONTEAL JOE – Dislodged jockey B. Derbyshire during the preliminary and galloped for some distance before being recaptured. Examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Jockey Derbyshire reported at scale that the gelding was inclined to hang in throughout the event.
BEAUTIFUL LOVE – Jockey B. Powell reported at scale that his reins became entangled in the gelding’s mane in the home straight, placing him at a disadvantage.
ZOOMESDAY – Tightened for room and lost ground at the start.
CHEVYS DESIRE – Hampered at the start. Raced wide throughout the event.
GOLOVKIN – Began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly.
ANY LASS WILL DO – Raced wide throughout the event.
JAREL’S DRAGON – Apprentice N. Morton advised the gelding was inclined to hang out rounding the home turn and in the home straight, preventing her from riding it out with her usual vigour.
RACE 2: BP CHINCHILLA/BATTLE OF THE NORTH SEA RATINGS BAND 0-50 H’CAP – 1030M
JILL’S SHADOW – Slow to begin.
LITLE JATZ – Began awkwardly.
BOB MARK’S BOY – Steadied from heels when laying in near the 800m.
BRAZEN JAKE – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
LONTANA – Performed below market expectations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer P. Sexton advised he would consider the mare’s racing future.
RACE 3: LANDMARK ALL LADY RIDERS BRACELET/BATTLE OF PASSCHENDAELE BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1200M
KING COBIA, COVERT CHAMOUR, LAREDO HUSSLER and ROCKLEA RAIDER were all late scratchings as no riders were available.
No racing incidents.
RACE 4: GREAT WESTERN CHINCHILLA/BATTLE OF POLYGON WOOD CLASS B H’CAP – 1400M
CONNOR – Began awkwardly, shifted out and made heavy contact with another runner.
NIMIA – Bumped at the start. Overraced in the early stages. Hung out rounding the home turn.
GOLD SEARCH – Badly tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
STAR PROSECUTOR – Raced wide throughout the event.
RACE 5: CHINCHILLA RSL SUB-BRANCH/CHARGE OF LIGHT HORSE AT BEERSHEBA BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1400M
FLYING CHARGER – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.
VIRTUITY – Overraced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
KING BING – Jockey P. Romeo reported at scale that he felt there was something amiss with the gelding’s action over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed muscle soreness in the near shoulder.
SHADOW SHOW – When questioned regarding the performance, which was below market expectations, jockey S. Apthorpe advised the gelding travelled strongly until the 300m, from which point it failed to let down and proved disappointing.
