Race 1: ELOISE GANNON FOUNDATION C,G&E RB 0-70 H'CAP 1050M
 
LIFEES LIKE THAT Had to steady away from heels after leaving the 600m.
 
HIGH COST Shifted in to avoid heels near the 800m.
 
IMPREGNABLE Reared prior to the start and struck its head. Removed from the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. Shifted out to avoid heels passing the 600m. R. Fradd reported at scale that it was always his intention to take a position behind the leaders. He said he had to steady his mount away from heels near the 600m, and indicated that in his opinion the gelding would be better suited over a longer distance than that of todayys event.
 
CAPTAIN TANGO Got its head up when being steadied away from heels passing the 600m. J. Lloyd reported at scale that his mount overraced in the middle stages.
 
Race 2: THE BIG CHOP BENCHMARK 75 HHCAP 1050M
 
FLAMING ACES Bounded on jumping and lost ground. Had to check away from heels approaching the 600m.
 
LIVE FAST After taking a trailing position behind TRUE PASSION, was then taken back through the field after passing the 800m when that runner commenced to lose ground, and then had to check away from that runner passing the 700m and shifted wider. Shifted out to improve near the 200m and made contact with another runner and was then held up approaching the 100m and did not obtain clear running over the concluding stages.
 
LADY SIOUX Had difficulty obtaining clear running over the concluding stages.
 
PUFFFS GIRL Taken wider on the track near the 700m. Bumped heavily near the 200m.
 
TRUE PASSION Commenced to lose ground after leaving the 800m and was eased out of the event. The veterinary surgeon advised that the gelding had sustained a fractured pelvis and was euthanased on humane grounds.
 
SWEET REPEAT When questioned regarding apprentice R. Ridees tactics, trainer R. Coveney stated that the mare had been ridden forward at Gatton when it won in June and his instructions to all riders since then have been to ride the mare forward, however at its three previous starts the mare was unable to be ridden in that manner.
 
JETSONIC Had to steady off heels near the 700m.
 
Race 3: MODA EVENTS PORTSIDE QTIS 3YO H'CAP 1350M
 
LEGADEMA Bumped shortly after the start.
 
RANCHO MONTOYA Slow to begin. Shifted out near the 600m and made contact with another runner.
 
UMBERTO Raced wide throughout without cover.
 
FRANCISCA Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and brushed another runner. Bumped near the 600m. Had to steady off heels approaching the 400m. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
DANSEZ Bumped near the 200m.
 
GWAPO Pulled hard after leaving the 800m.
 
PINCH PASSION Trainer R. Heathcote advised that the horse would be ridden in a more forward position if possible. Slow to begin and then settled at the rear of the field. Shifted out near the 200m and bumped another runner, then altered course back to the inside to obtain clear running.
RACE 2:

Race 4: EATON SERVICES GROUP OPEN H'CAP 1600M
 
SHEISWHATSHEIS Apprentice A. Fancourt reported at scale that her mount overraced in the early stages and refused to settle.
 
OUTRAGED Slow to begin. Attempted to shift out to obtain clear running near the 300m and then altered course back to the inside approaching the 200m.
 
PINDAN PEARL Lost the off fore plate in running. When questioned regarding his riding of the mare in the straight, R. Fradd stated that his mount was under pressure at the entrance to the straight and did not quicken as he would have expected and was inclined to lay in. He added that passing the 200m, as he did not believe there was sufficient room to improve between PUNTA NORTE and SHEISWHATSHEIS, he elected to come to the outside of the heels of PUNTA NORTE, however the mare was reluctant to shift out and as a result he attempted to improve back to the inside of PUNTA NORTE, but OUTRAGED had improved quickly to his inside and taken that run. Stewards noted jockey Fraddds explanation, however advised him that he would be expected to take advantage of any runs that present themselves.
 
Race 5: BRISBANE BMW OPEN H'CAP 1350M
 
FRESPANOL R. Fradd reported at scale that after beginning well he elected to ride his mount forward to take up a position near the lead. Lost the near hind plate in running.
 
STEEL ZIP Inclined to lay out after leaving the 800m. Eased in the straight and finished a distant last. J. Lloyd reported that his mount refused to stretch out throughout the event and in his opinion felt the firm surface today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Race 6: NORTHSIDE WOMENNS HEALTH BENCHMARK 75 H'CAP 2200M
 
LOVING HOME Trainer C. Wallerrs stable representative advised that the horse would be ridden in a forward position if possible. Raced wide in the early stages and then obtained a position with cover near the 1400m.
 
DEVIL HAWK Shifted in near the 1600m, tightening a runner to the inside. After initially being taken in by another runner near the 600m, shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in TOPENDING, which was racing to the inside of DEVIL HAWK, clipping heels and blundering. B. Stewart was fined $100 for using the whip on 10 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
THE RUMOUR FILE Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
STANLEY Held up rounding the home turn.
 
IILL MISS YOU Raced wide without cover in the early stages.
 
GORADA Bumped on jumping. J. Morris was fined $300 for returning to scale in excess of 1kg overweight.
 
SPLENDID STRYKER Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
QUEEN GORGO Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
TOPENDING Brushed the running rail near the 1600m and became unbalanced when tightened for room. Again bumped near the 1500m. Clipped heels and blundered after leaving the 600m.

 
Race 7: CLAYFIELD JEWELLERY CLASS 3 PLATE 1600M
 
ANZIO Held up rounding the home turn.
 
GLEN ORD Forced wider near the 700m.
 
PLEASED Shifted away from heels near the 700m.
 
ZOFF OF THE WORLD Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 8: CHEMIST WAREHOUSE CLASS 6 PLATE 1200M
 
EL SASSO Raced wide without cover.
 
PATRONIZING Had to be steadied approaching the 200m when taken close to the heels of another runner.
 
KHALEESI Had to be steadied when tightened for room near the 1100m. Held up when attempting a run near the 250m and had to be checked.
 
TREVINDER Shifted out near the 1100m, inconveniencing runners to the outside.
 
PASSIONFLOWER Held up after leaving the 300m and then from the 100m to the finish line did not obtain clear running.
 
PUBLISHING POWER Had to be checked near the 1100m when tightened for room between runners. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
KHALAMA J. Lloyd reported that his mount may not have appreciated todayys firm surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have an elevated heart rate and to be exhibiting a respiratory noise. The stable was advised to have an endoscopic examination carried out on the mare.
 
KWANZA Late scratching at 12:22 pm after stewards acceded to a request by trainer L. White to scratch the horse due to being relocated to another stable in the Sunshine Coast area because of bush fires in the vicinity.
 
Race 9: GOT IT COVERED BENCHMARK 75 H'CAP 1350M
 
SABKHAT When questioned regarding his tactics, apprentice J. Guthmann-Chester stated that over a longer distance the gelding had been ridden forward and he was instructed to have the gelding in a similar position today, however in hindsight he agreed that he should have steadied near the 1000m instead of waiting until the 800m.
 
CRAIGLEA WANDOO Slow to begin.
 
DANTGA When questioned regarding her tactics, T. Harrison stated that with the gear change today of blinkers off/winkers on, the gelding overraced and when she attempted to restrain approaching the 800m, was inclined to hang out and was beaten well before the home turn.
 
CONSTANTINE Slow to begin.
 
ELJETEM Slow to begin.
 
SELFIE Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
