Race 1: CFMEU Mining & Energy QTIS 2YO WR 2KG H’Cap – 1527m
 
LUCKY FEELING – Slow to begin and was bumped by FLYING PRINCE after the start.
 
FLYING PRINCE – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped LUCKY FEELING.
 
DRUMEOUS – Approaching the 1200m when the pace steadied overraced and got its head up on a number of occasions.
 
WAKE UP JEFF – Shifted an offside hind plate in running.
 
 
Race 2: Channel 7 Maiden H’Cap – 1200m
 
CLIMATE – Began awkwardly and shifted in.  At the 100m was hampered slightly between runners when PRINCE OF TIE shifted out.
 
NETZACH – Slow to begin and then was hampered between CLIMATE and RIMMSKI.
 
ROCK ON DESTINY – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
SNIPPY STRATEGIC – Began awkwardly and shifted out.  After passing the 600m was forced to race wide.  
PRINCE OF TIE – Hampered between runners shortly after the start.  Held up from the 500m until a point passing the 400m where it obtained a run to the inside of RIMMSKI.  Approaching the 100m was inclined to lay out under pressure.
 
NAUGHTY CORNER - After passing the 600m was forced to race wide.
 
SILVER FOX – After passing the 600m hung out and tired over the concluding stages.  A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.  Trainer D. Bell undertook to have further veterinary blood tests conducted, the results of which he would advise stewards.
 
RIMMSKI – Had a tendency to lay out passing the 500m and rounding the home turn.  When questioned trainer L. Birchley advised stewards that at the gelding’s last start it was hit by a plate and lost confidence midrace, therefore the instructions today were to be more positive from the inside gate and hold a forward position. 
 
LAKOUDIS – Held up for clear running form the 400m until a point passing the 100m and then raced in restricted room in the run to the line.
 
PENNY FOR THEM – A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have sustained some speedy cuts to its off hing leg.
 
 
Race 3: Labour Day Races May 1 Class 1 WR 1KG H’Cap – 1527m
 
SALUTE THE PRINCE – Slow to begin.
 
NAMIB – Began awkwardly.  Held up from the 500m until entering the straight and was disappointed for a run to the outside of FUSI FOX and had to be steadied at the 300m.
 
MISS MISSILE –  Jockey J. Orman stated that after being caught wide midfield in the early stages he pressed forward in an attempt to find a position closer to the rail but was unable to do so and therefore raced 3 wide without cover throughout.  Jockey Orman further stated that  in hindsight it may have been more advantageous to have restrained to the rear of the field.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be showing signs of tying up. 
 
CONGELATOR – Held up for a short distance rounding the home turn. 
 
SUNRISE GLORY – Upon entering the straight shifted out in an attempt to obtain clear running and was prevented from doing so and then had to alter course back to the inside.  
 
OCCHILUPO – A post race veterinary examination  of the colt, which was slow to begin and obliged to work hard early to obtain the lead before compounding over the final 400m failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Following the running of this event the track was downgraded to a Soft 5.
 
 
Race 4: Sky Racing Class 3 SW Plate – 1020m
 
PERDU – Trainer D. Joice reported to stewards a pre-existing injury,  being a superficial laceration to the off shoulder.   A veterinary examination cleared gelding to start.
 
ADERITO – Began awkwardly, threw its head in the air on a number of occasions and lost ground.  Trainer K. Schweida advised that he would give consideration to removing the nose band from the gelding.
 
DOUBT SHE’S A LADY – Approaching the winning post made heavy contact with the inside running rail and became unbalanced.
 
Following the running of this event jockey L. Dittman was stood down by the ambulance officers after injurying his left hand and replaced by T. Harrison as the rider of SHARPAMAL (Race 8).
 
 
Race 5: Free Entry Labour Day Monday Fillies & Mares Benchmark 75 H’Cap – 1200m
 
ROXY RHYTHM was declared a late scratching at 1.45 p.m. by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. 
 
STICK WITH ME – Slow to begin.
 
ASSERTORY – Passing the 800m had to be steadied when improving onto the heels of RED CHANDELIER.
 
COURTZIG – On straightening was hampered between RED CHANDELIER and BO ROSSA, which shifted out slightly.
 
FLO JO SNIP – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils during the event.  Trainer S. Morrisey was advised that the mare will now incur the mandatory 3 month ban and must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m before racing again.
 
Race 6: City Of Ipswich Benchmark 75 H’Cap – 1700m
 
FREE BILLY – Began awkwardly.
 
ROGALI – Began awkwardly and shifted out.  Overraced in the early stages.
 
GRESELIN – Hampered on jumping away.
 
THE EQUALIZER – Began awkwardly and brushed the barrier partition.
 
WAR BABY – After beginning from a wide gate had to be restrained to take up a position at the rear of the field.
 
HARBOUR SPRINGS – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
 
Race 7: Free Family Fun Day Monday Colts, Geldings & Entires Benchmark 75 H’Cap – 1200m
 
NAKANAI – Hampered between runners shortly after the start.
 
DANGER CLOSE – Began awkwardly and was then bumped by another runner shortly after the start.  Overraced passing the 800m for a short  distance.  Jockey T. Harrison accidentally dropped her whip near the 250m mark.
 
DIETERS – Overraced in the early stages when attempting to obtain a trailing position and at a point passing the 800m shifted out and raced 3 wide without cover for the remainder.  Had to be steadied at the 100m when hampered by NAKANAI, which shifted out.  Jockey A. Sewell (NAKANAI) was advised to exercise more care. Trainer R. Heathcote advised that the colt will be gelded prior to racing again.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. 
 
RELAMPAGO – Held up for clear running from the 500m until after entering the straight.  Approaching the 100m had to be steadied off heels.
 
ESSAY RAIDER – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
CHEVAL LE VENT – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
SHOW HARMONY - A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils during the event.  Trainer K. Doughty was advised that the gelding will now incur the mandatory 3 month ban and must gallop satisfactorily over 1000m before racing again.
 
 
Race 8:  Free Fair Ground Monday QTIS 3YO Class 1 H’Cap – 1200m
 
MY CRIMSON LAD – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
THUMBS UP – Slow to begin and was then bumped by SHARPAMAL, which shifted in.
 
MOGUL – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
BLACK CRUSADE – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
SHARPAMAL – Shortly after jumping jockey T. Harrison lost the use of her near side iron resulting in the gelding racing erratically from that point on.  When jockey Harrison regained the use of her iron the gelding shifted in abruptly and she had to check the gelding away from heels and it then raced wide without cover for the remainder of the event.  Laid  in under pressure at the 300m despite the efforts of its rider.
 
HIRTSHALS – Severely checked at the 300m and was then eased out of the event.
 
SWEET SODA POP – Passing the 300m was laying in despite the efforts of its rider and was slightly brushed and taken in by SHARPAMAL.
 
RHYMING – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
GREY STEYNE – Raced 3 wide throughout.
