GENERAL
 
As P. Romeo was not riding at the meeting due to transport difficulties, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: PAYNE PRINT QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP 1050M
 
The start of this race was delayed due to the late arrival on course of the race day veterinarian. A further delay to the start occurred when RAINBOW SNIP required resaddling.
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, J. Stanley, the rider of TOKAREV, viewed the stewardss patrol footage of an incident near the 500m. After viewing the videos, jockey Stanley indicated that he did not wish to lodge an objection.
 
BURDENKIN FUBU A warning was placed on the horsees poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
RAINBOW SNIP Raced wide without cover.
 
SARABAH Had to alter course near the 200m when another runner shifted out.
 
AL MAH ROCKET Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
TOKAREV Placed in restricted room near the 500m and became awkward in its stride. Shifted out near the 200m, causing SARABAH to alter course. J. Stanley was advised to exercise more care. J. Stanley reported that his mount raced greenly throughout.
 
NATUREES WAY Jumped awkwardly and laid in shortly after the start. Rolled in near the 500m, placing TOKAREV in restricted room.
 
Race 2: PAYNE PRINT QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP 1050M
 
BEAU CHEVAL Laid in on two occasions after the start and caused CRAIGLEA RIO to be eased. Laid in near the 600m, resulting in EDGED IN LACE being tightened for room and losing ground.
 
CRAIGLEA RIO Had to be eased on two occasions after the start.
 
HIDDEN SPEED Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover.
 
HAMMERFEST Raced ungenerously in the early stages and near the 850m was eased from the heels of another runner.
 
A STAR BORN Raced wide with cover.
 
EDGED IN LACE Tightened for room near the 600m and lost ground.
 
Race 3: MCDONALD MURPHY MACHINERY MAIDEN PLATE 1300M
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately 3 minutes when BOUN CI was difficult to load and fractious in the barriers. A further warning will be placed on the horsees manners.
 
DAESY DANORO Slow to begin.
 
LENNONNS PADDOCK Slow to begin.
 
BAWAARDI ROCKET Slow to begin. When questioned, jockey N. Day stated that the horse had failed to travel throughout and did not respond to his urgings at any stage. He was conscious that this was the first occasion on which the horse had raced on rain-affected going. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
CRAIGLEA WARKAT Raced wide until near the 600m.
 
Race 4: SMART STATE VEHICLE RENTALS CLASS 6 PLATE 1300M
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, trainer J. McConachy and jockey W. DDAvila viewed the photo finish image for first and after doing so were satisfied as to the Judgees placings.
 
CLATEAU A. Butler pleaded guilty to a charge under AR. 137A(5)(a)(ii) in that he had used his whip on CLATEAU on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m, that being 10 times prior to the 100m. After considering the distance of the race and also the totality of the use, stewards deemed the appropriate penalty be a suspension of his licence to ride in races for a period of 7 days, from midnight Saturday 21 October up to and including midnight Saturday 28 October 2017.
 
COVENTRY Began awkwardly.
 
GOOD CATCH Began awkwardly. Held up for a short distance near the 400m.
 
Race 5: CHAMPION C STUD & EQUESTRIAN CENTRE RATINGS BAND 0 65 H'CAP 1200M
 
POWER SUPPLY Declared a late scratching at 1:46 pm on veterinary advice. A veterinary certificate will be required prior to the horsees next race start.
 
RUSTY SCOOTER Slow to begin.
 
CRAIGLEA GHETTO Stepped back as the start was effected and began awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages. Held up from approaching the 400m, from the 200m had difficulty obtaining clear running, and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
GONDWANA BAY Raced wide without cover.
 
Race 6: BLUE RIVER ICE BENCHMARK 70 H'CAP 1050M
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, apprentice L. Dodds, the rider of SHIGERU MAHOGANY, viewed the stewardss patrol footage with regards to lodging an objection over the concluding stages. After doing so he indicated that he did not wish to proceed.
 
ROYAL PHYSICIAN Made contact with another runner on jumping. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Had to be steadied from the heels of HUNCHA DUNCHA, which shifted out near the 600m. W. DDAvila reported that he was unable to obtain cover on his mount and given the weight impost may have been detrimental to its performance.
 
RAPT IN RUMBA Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
SUPREME JET Made contact with another runner on jumping. Had to be eased near the 600m.
 
SHIGERU MAHOGANY Rolled in near the 600m, causing SUPREME JET to be eased.
 
RECTIFIER Bled both nostrils, first time. Ineligible to compete for 3 months and prior to resuming racing must perform satisfactorily in a 1000m gallop in the presence of a steward.
 
HUNCHA DUNCHA Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 7: VERIS RATINGS BAND 0 55 H'CAP 1050M
 
CORNISH TALES Jumped in the air at the start. Raced wide with cover. W. DDAvila reported that he had concerns with the horse on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer W. Winters advised that the horse may have a further start prior to spelling.
 
SAMUEL JAMES Raced keenly in the early stages. Made contact with the running rail near the 600m, raced fiercely, resulting in the rider becoming unbalanced and the horse having to be steadied from the heels of RAGNAR LODBROK.
 
DORIS STAR - Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 8: CBG PARTNERS BENCHMARK 60 H'CAP 1560M
 
UNDER THE WEATHER Trainer O. Cairns was reprimanded for the late declaration of M. Haley as rider.
 
INDELO Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
FASSLER Slow into stride.
 
CRAIGLEA CEON Overraced in the early stages.
