Due to the predicted weather forecast for today’s meeting this meeting was conducted under the provisions of Racing Queensland Heat Policy level 2 Protocols.
Race 1: THANKS DOWNER GROUP BENCHMARK H'CAP – 900M
CALDANE – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.
Race 2: WELCOME ABOARD ISLAND BMX MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M
VEGANER – Slow to begin.
ROCKET ELEMENT – Began awkwardly.
VIENNA GEM – Hung in the early stages of the race.
THANK YOU – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
MESSINES ROSE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
MISHANI TRADER – Raced 3 wide with no cover for the majority of the race.
Race 3: CAVA HYDRAULICS & AUTO BENCHMARK 50 H'CAP – 1000M
As no riders were available TRESSLES and STAGE DANCER were declared late scratchings at 3.05pm.
RUBIDUS – Was declared a late scratching at 11.00am as no rider was available.
LASTING IMAGE – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer J. Bawden was advised the gelding must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to being permitted to race again.
EIGHTH KEEPER – Blundered badly on jumping losing ground.
YOUR WAY OR MINE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
LUNAR LUCK – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 4: MOUNT ISA MINING SUPPLIES FASHIONS ON THE FIELD OPEN PLATE – 1100M
AVALANCHES – A pre-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the near hind leg, acting on vet’s advice the gelding was declared a late scratching at 3.25pm. Trainer G. Tipping was advised he must furnish a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to being
Permitted to race again.

FIVE O’CLOCK – Raced 3 wide with no cover for the majority of the race.
