SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT, ROCKHAMPTON 23/04/2015

Trainer J. McConachy was fined $200 for presenting FAST FOCUS with other than its approved gear.

GENERAL:

After fulfilling his riding engagements, Jockey B Evans failed to provide a urine sample as directed by Stewards. He was subsequently stood down and an inquiry will be convened at a date and time to be fixed.

LATE RIDING CHANGES

When stewards were advised that the flight on which Jockeys R. McMahon J. P. Stanley and J. Taylor had been booked had returned to Brisbane and would not be able to fulfil their engagements, substitutions were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Stewards were advised that Jockey R. Fradd and Apprentice J. Orman were on the rescheduled flight which had left Brisbane at 12.45 p.m. and when this flight was unable to land, returned to Brisbane. Substitutions were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Race 1: The Capricornian Community Owned Banking BM70 Handicap - 1200 metres
1st IMBOSTERIA 2nd STRATEGIC GLORY 3rd OUTBACK SAPPER 4th - BROWN DOUBT

FROM THE DARKNESS - Raced wide throughout. The rider reported that that the gelding failed to handle the prevailing track conditions and was disappointing.

Retrospective to Race 1, the track was downgraded to SLOW 7.

Race 2: XXXX Gold QTIS 3YO Handicap - 1200 metres
1st JEB'S BOY 2nd EKKAREEZA 3rd OUR NEDDY BOY 4th - STYLISH LUCK

SERENE SAGA - When no other senior rider was available to ride the filly, permission was given for replacement Jockey S. Sheargold to ride the filly 1kg above its allotted weight. Began awkwardly and was further hampered by OUR NEDDY BOY, which shifted out. Rider reported that his mount failed to handle the prevailing track conditions.

STYLISH LUCK - Over-raced in the middle stages and was restrained from heels.

Race 3: Toohey’s New Handicap - 1100 metres
1st HOTEL PARADISO 2nd SCHOORWIN 3rd MYTHOLOGIST 4th - CLOUD DANCER

HOTEL PARADISO - Was slow to begin and then raced wide throughout.

MYTHOLOGIST - Near the 400 metres was disappointed for clear running.

Race 4: Lyle Rowe Racing BM65 Handicap - 1500 metres
1st SPIRIT BEAT 2nd CUMANI 3rd FORBARREL 4th - LEO’S SPIRIT

SPIRIT BEAT - Pulled hard in the early and middle stages, and shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.

Trainer J. McConachy and Apprentice D. Evans viewed the patrol film to ascertain whether there were grounds for lodging an objection against SPIRIT BEAT being declared the winner. After doing so they elected not to proceed with an objection and correct weight was declared on the judge's numbers.

Following this race the track condition was further downgraded to Heavy 8 retrospectively.

Race 5: Summer Bright with Lime Maiden Handicap - 1300 metres
1st DUAN MAJOR 2nd KING KAHN 3rd FORECASTING 4th - TARA’S RANSOM

DIAMOND RACER - When Jockey B. Evans was to be overweight and no other rider was available at or near the allotted weight, permission was granted for him to ride the filly 1kg overweight. Jockey Evans was fined $100 under A.R. 120(b).

JUNIOR HEIST - Trainer K. Hansen was reprimanded for failing to declare App. K. Aho as the rider of the gelding by the prescribed time. Was slow to begin, then was tightened for room between runners.

FRANKY COLD MEDINA- Tightened for room at the start between runners and lost some ground.

HAY DRAG - Tightened for room at the start between TARA'S RANSOM and KING KHAN, which shifted ground, lost some ground. A post-race veterinary examination of HAY DRAG did not reveal any abnormalities.

Race 6: XXX X Bitter BM60 Handicap - 1814 metres
1st - PRICELESS HEART 2nd - DIOXIDES 3rd - QUICK SPUR 4th - MANILA ACADEMY

CRAIGLEA COPPER - Permission was given for Jockey D. Simmons to ride the gelding 1kg above its allotted weight. Began awkwardly.

QUICK SPUR - Permission was given for Jockey M. Abe to ride the gelding half a kilogram above its allocated weight.

RED RYDER - Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground. Trainer A. Jenkinson was advised that he must obtain a barrier certificate prior to the mare being permitted to race again.

PRICELESS HEART - Over-raced in the early stages.

Stewards opened an inquiry into Jockey Dale Evans' riding of MANILA ACADEMY in the straight. After taking initial evidence stewards adjourned the inquiry to a time and date to be fixed.

Race 7: Hahn 3.5 Class 1 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st - ELLE THE MODEL 2nd - MERVYNDAVE 3rd - DE MESTRE 4th - TIME TO SPARE

FANTASTIC EIGHT - App. Jockey N. Summers was permitted to ride without the benefit of her claim given that no other riders were available.

DE MESTRE - Jockey B. Evans was permitted to ride the gelding 2.5 kg overweight when no other riders were available. Shortly after the start was bumped by another runner.

DUAN OSCAR- Leaving the 800 metres another runner rolled in and made contact with BLUESZAIM, which made contact with the gelding, which became slightly unbalanced.

JETERIN - Proved difficult to load then began slowly.

ROSELLA EAGLE - Shifted in at the start and bumped DE MESTRE, which was taken in onto BLUESZAIM, resulting in that mare being tightened for room and losing some ground.
