Race 4: Stage and Audio Maiden Handicap- 1050 metres

Stewards inquired into App. N Vuille's riding of BOOMTOWN BOY in the early stages. App. Vuille stated that her instructions were that from the inside barrier she should endeavour to be positioned behind ITHAKOS (Jockey A. Butler) and she anticipated that that runner would allow her to move up into the race. She said that after beginning better than she had expected in the early stages, she attempted to comply with the instructions. Stewards believed that App. Vuille erred in restraining her mount and relinquishing her position to get inside ITHAKOS in the early stages and positioning her mount towards the rear of the field. They were further of the view that App. Vuille should have maintained her position midfield, and advised her that in similar circumstances she would be required to show more initiative.
