GENERAL

Trainers T. Edmonds, T. Cook and R. Vale were all fined $200 by Integrity Regulation Unit Stewards for failing to keep updated treatment books.

Race 1: Claude Green Memorial F&M Class 3 Handicap - 1200 metres
1st ZAHA EXPRESS 2nd GYPSY SECRET 3rd MISS CHARISMA 4th - DOUBLE DRAMA

ZAHA EXPRESS - Began awkwardly.

PIPIT - Slow to begin. Near the 250 metres was checked when anticipating that SAMARAH GIRL would shift in when her mount was laying in and racing to the inside of DOUBLE DRAMA, which also laid in.

DOUBLE DRAMA - Slow to begin.

PRINCESS RHYTHM - Near the 900 metres was tightened for room and had to be steadied between SAMARAH GIRL and ESPRIT LIGHT, both of which shifted ground. Raced wide with cover.

SAINTLY PRO - Raced wide without cover.

GYPSY SECRET - Momentarily held up for clear running leaving the 400 metres.

Apprentice N. Summers pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A. R. 137A(5)(a)(ii) for using her whip on ESPRIT LIGHT on 9 occasions more than permitted under the rule. Apprentice Summers’ licence to ride in races was suspended from midnight 25th June 2016, up to and including 2nd July 2016. In assessing penalty stewards were mindful of Apprentice Summers' poor record in relation to the rule.

Race 2: Condon Treasures Advisory Group Class 2 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st SHANDIEN 2nd CHEERING 3rd MYSTIC LAD 4th - PORTSEA

WHISKEY LAD - Began awkwardly and made contact with PORTSEA.

SOLO SOPRANO - Began awkwardly and was slow into stride.

SUPERIOR DRAGON - Bounded in the air on jumping and began awkwardly.

PORTSEA - On returning to scale Jockey M. Hellyer reported that his mount was inclined to lay out for the majority of the event. Near the 300 metres laid out and tightened SOLO SOPRANO. Jockey Hellyer was told to exercise more care.

PERIPHERAL - Apprentice N. Summers reported that in the home straight her mount was inclined to lay in.

WRITTEN HONOUR - Raced wide without cover throughout.

BLUE MAGNATE - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Jockey M. Barnham reported that leaving the 400 metres his mount laid in and commenced to yield ground. He said that the gelding had choked down and was restrained out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed slight lameness in the near hind. Connections explained that the horse had undergone a previous wind operation and may now be retired from racing. Nevertheless, stewards advised that should the gelding be returned to racing it will be required to barrier trial prior to its next start.

OUR BOY HOUDINI - At the start, shifted out onto PERIPHERAL and tightened CHEERING out onto BLUE MAGNATE.

COURTZIG - Held up for clear running from approaching the 100 metres and was unable to be fully tested.

Race 3: “Living The Dream” Syndicate QTIS 2YO Plate - 1300 metres
1st STARANTE 2nd PARTY PARDEE 3rd SAYROTHY 4th - SONADOR FIRE

DOUMBEK - Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

RUBY REMEDY - Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.

SAYROTHY - Near the 700 metres was eased from the heels of another runner.

SONADOR FIRE - Near the 400 metres shifted out abruptly, causing RAINBOW JILL to ease.

PARTY PARDEE - Prior to the declaration of correct weight Jockey A. Coome viewed the official photo finish image for first and having done so was satisfied with the judge's placings.

Race 4: PKF Open Handicap - 1050 metres
1st SAY I WON’T 2nd PRINCELY 3rd LIMER ICK MOON 4th - KUAIMA

FAST FOCUS - Began awkwardly.

CHARCOAL MELODY - Began awkwardly. Stewards opened an inquiry into an incident near the 200 metres in which Jockey D. Hayse was dislodged from his mount. After taking evidence from Jockey S.Sheargold, Jockey D. Simmons, Jockey A. Coome and Apprentice Q. Krogh, the matter was adjourned. As Jockey Hayse was injured, he was replaced for his remaining engagements and substitutions were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Jockey Hayse will be required to provide a medical clearance prior to being permitted to ride again. A post-race veterinary examination of CHARCOAL MELODY revealed that the mare was lame in the near foreleg. Trainer A. Jenkinson will be advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to the mare racing again.

SAY I WON'T - Bounded in the air and lost ground.

THAT'S POPS - At the start shifted in onto GOWER.

JAM TIN - Raced wide without cover throughout.

TOP ROYAL - Raced wide with cover.

KUAIMA - Prior to the declaration of correct weight Jockey D. Simmons viewed the official patrol videos over the concluding 100 metres. After doing so, he elected not to lodge an objection against SAY I WON'T.

Race 5: The Capricornia Community Owned Banking QTIS 3YO Plate- 1600 metres
1st MR EPIC 2nd LEGAL PROCEDURE 3rd STAR FURY 4th - REAL EGO

STAR FURY - Bounded in the air at the start.

LEGAL PROCEDURE - Began awkwardly and made contact with the inside barrier partition.

REAL EGO - Over-raced in the early stages.

PEGUNNY KID - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

Race 6: Robo’s Group Rockhampton Cup Open Handicap- 1600 metres
1st RULING FORCE 2nd BINALONG ROAD 3rd HARADA BAY 4th - OGGIE

HIDDEN NATURE - Began awkwardly. Jockey C. McIver was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift in near 1500m when insufficiently clear of OGGIE (Jockey A. Allen), which was taken in and caused WALHAAN (Jockey D. Simmons) to be tightened and taken in onto HIDDEN NATURE (Jockey D. Evans), which had to check and lose its rightful running. Jockey McIver was suspended from riding in races for a period of 11 days, to commence at midnight on 2nd July 2016, up to and including midnight on 13th July 2016.

OGGIE - Began awkwardly.

RULING FORCE - Hampered at the start when MARKOUT (Apprentice Q. Krogh) jumped out and RULING FORCE was tightened onto HARADA BAY (Jockey A. Butler), which was taken in when PERFORMIA (Jockey S. Sheargold) shifted in.

EMERALD CITY - Slow to begin. Bumped runner to its outside near 500 metres.

GOLD HORIZON- Near the 500 metres when held up on heels of runner forward, bumped by inside runner, shifted out and made contact with HOT SAGA.

HARADA BAY - Near the 1300 metres was awkwardly placed on the heels of OGGIE, shifted out and took PERFORMIA out onto GOLD HORIZON, which in turn was taken out onto HOT SAGA.

Jockey A. Coome, the rider of the winner, RULING FORCE, was fined $200 under A.R. 137(a) for making a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post.

Race 7: Phil Peel Leading Edge Jewellers Diamond CG&E Class 3 Handicap - 1200 metres
1st EKKLESTONE 2nd CANNY AND THE JET 3rd QUICK ASSAULT 4th - ZIZA SPIRIT

PULSAR - Slow to begin.

CODE ONE- Made contact with OUR SINGLE DOUBT and then shifted in and made contact with QUICK ASSAULT.

MIDNIGHT STALKER - Raced wide without cover throughout.

BIG BABA LOOEY - Raced wide with cover throughout.

ZIZA SPIRIT - After obtaining the lead over-raced in the middle stages.

CLOSE THE BEACHES - Jockey M. Hellyer reported that he was instructed to take up a forward position, however when slow to begin, was unable to do so.

QUICK ASSAULT - Near the 700 metres improved up onto the heels of METEOR'S MAN (D. Evans) and had to be steadied. OUR SINGLE DOUBT (Jockey A. Butler), which was following, had to be steadied from the heels of QUICK ASSAULT. Approaching the 150 metres shifted out under riding, resulting in METEOR'S MAN having to be steadied. Apprentice Krogh was reprimanded.

CANNY AND THE JET- Raced wide without cover throughout.
