Race 1: PELICAN WATERS GOLF CLUB CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1600M
 
AD FINEM – Overraced in the early stages when restrained to attempt to secure cover and then continued to overrace at heels, having to be checked on a number of occasions until approaching the 600m. Stewards addressed concerns with apprentice A. Spinks in relation to his tactics adopted in the early and middle stages, in particular his actions in significantly restraining the gelding after having obtained the lead in the early stages. Stewards advised apprentice Spinks that the ride would be drawn to the attention of the Apprentice Training School for further tutelage.
 
Race 2: SAMUEL SMITH & SON/YALUMBA WINES QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M
 
CENTIGRADE – Jumped awkwardly. Apprentice G. Mitchell reported that her saddle shifted back slightly on jumping.
 
SURE DEAL – Raced greenly throughout and was momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
INITIALIZE – B. Pengelly was fined $200 for returning to scale 1kg over his allotted weight.
 
STAR CUGAT – Raced wide without cover. J. Orman indicated that despite being wide he was comfortable with how the horse travelled, however when placed under pressure the horse failed to respond and became very awkward in its action, weakening badly in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer S. Kendrick indicated that he would have an endoscopic examination performed on the horse and advise stewards of the findings. Stewards advised Mr Kendrick that if there was no veterinary explanation tendered for the performance, stewards would require the horse to trial satisfactorily prior to its next start.
 
TEAGZ – Jumped awkwardly and made heavy contact with the barrier partition.
 
Race 3: MEREDITH KITCHENS QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M
 
DARTH VADER – As J. Taylor was unable to arrive on course by the prescribed time, T. Brooker was substituted as rider. J. Taylor was reprimanded. Raced wide without cover.
 
IMA FARMBOY – Raced greenly throughout. Steadied near the 900m when shifting in across heels. Steadied when placed in restricted room near the 700m. Steadied near the 300m to avoid heels.
 
SIDEREUS DISCORD – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
EVERYDAY LADY – Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
HOWICK – Trainer D. Kelly was fined $100 for the late declaration of C. Bayliss as rider. Slow to begin.
 
SHE’S UP BEAT – Raced wide throughout.
 
SWEET JAIN – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. R. Stewart reported that his mount raced greenly throughout and appeared to resent kickback from other runners and in his view also resented being struck with the whip.
 
WEEKEND SAGA – Began awkwardly and then raced greenly throughout the event.
 
Race 4: BASSETT BARKS PTY LTD MAIDEN H’CAP – 1000M
 
BIG PAPA BEAR – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Raced extremely wide without cover. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
DOMINANT CROWN – Raced with its head in the air for a short distance passing the 700m. Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
KINNAREE – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
BIG VEGA – Inconvenienced shortly after the start.
 
ALEMANA – Inconvenienced shortly after the start.
 
FATAL RENDEZVOUS – Apprentice T. Brooker reported that her saddle shifted back on jumping away.
 
SINGLE LASS – Raced wide after being forced wider near the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off hind coronet.
 
SWISS MADEMOISELLE – Became awkward and blundered when restrained to avoid heels near the 700m. Raced wide without cover from the 700m. Weakened badly over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
Race 5: HOT 91.1 LADIES OAKS DAY 2 JUNE MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M
 
OUR RED DOG – Had some difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
LYRIDS – Slow to begin. Had difficulty securing clear running after passing the 300m and had to be steadied from the heels of the weakening LOVE BITES near the 200m.
 
KISS ME CLANG – As J. Morris was indisposed due to illness, R. McMahon was substituted as rider. Raced wide without cover.
 
BOUCHARD – Slowly into stride.
 
DANGEROUS DESIRE – Raced wide throughout.
 
LOVE BITES – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Race 6: THE PUMP HOUSE CALOUNDRA CUP 1 JULY CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1800M
 
REAL STING – Slow to begin.
 
TIMELESS LADY – Raced wide throughout. L. Londregan reported that the horse raced with its tongue over the bit. Sustained minor lacerations to the near hind leg and lost the near hind plate in running.
 
ANTIGONE – Overraced on to heels and had to be checked when the pace was steady during the middle stages before racing with its head in the air until approaching the 900m.
 
EIGHT BELOW – Slow to begin. Shifted out to improve from the 700m and raced very wide from that point onwards.
 
LUPO NERO – Slow to begin. Restrained from heels near the 600m.
 
PORTSEA – L. Tarrant reported that his mount hung out throughout the event.
 
Race 7: WWW.SCTC.COM.AU CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1000M
 
The start of this race was delayed significantly when AZARENKA proved difficult to load and as the Clerk of the Course had dismounted in an attempt to assist with the loading of AZARENKA, his mount then took fright and ran loose away from the barriers. The horse was subsequently recaptured by the other Clerk of the Course. During this period, the bridle on AZARENKA became dislodged. The bridle was refitted and the horse underwent a veterinary examination and cleared to start. Trainer M. Mair was advised that the horse would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next start. The Clerk of the Course was advised that in no circumstances is he to dismount from his horse behind the barriers.
 
MOVING PRESS – Raced wide without cover.
 
AZARENKA – Proved difficult to load.
 
ROCKY SUPREME – Placed in restricted room after passing the 900m and was steadied.
 
DAVE’S VALOR – Laid in during the early stages.
 
MARKED FOREVER – Reared as the start was effected. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
REAL CUTE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection and was cleared to race.
 
FLASH HERO – Slow to begin.
 
Race 8: #SCTURFCLUB CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M
 
COME BY CHANCE – J. Lloyd reported that his mount overraced in the middle stages.
 
ANDARI – Slow to begin.
 
NOTHING TO DANCE – Raced wide without cover.
 
HELL OF A QUEST – Slow to begin.
 
BOLD INDI – Raced wide without cover.
 
SAKAN – Held up from approaching the 500m and had to be steadied from heels near the 450m.
 
MAMBO MISS – Buffeted between runners shortly after the start, losing ground, and was then ridden forward to assume the lead passing the 800m before weakening in the home straight.
 
Race 9: K SMITH & SON JEWELLERS BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1400M
 
MIRI MIRI – Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
SKYTASTIC – Slow to begin.
 
TRUMP IT – Slow to begin.
 
AIR DIAMOND – Had to be restrained approaching the 800m to avoid the heels of MIRI MIRI. Apprentice C. Bayliss, the rider of MIRI MIRI, was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift ground when not clear.
 
PRIDE OF RAWBELLE – Raced wide without cover.
