Jockey Stewart was suspended from riding in races for a period of 15 days, to commence at midnight, 8 July and to expire at midnight, 23 July.

Woodham expressed disappointment in the horse’s performance and indicated it would now be sent for a spell. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.

MY TRUE LOVE – Stewards questioned jockey A. Hyeronimus regarding the tactics adopted from the 1400m when after having obtained the lead he steadied and allowed ROTHABYE to cross to the lead after passing the 1300m.  Shortly thereafter ROTHABYE  steadied the pace and this resulted in MY TRUE LOVE being positioned midfield. Jockey A. Hyeronimus explained that it had been his intention to lead, however after having worked hard to obtain the lead from a wide alley he did not wish his mount to be put into a speed battle with an outsider of the field such as ROTHABYE.  He explained that in hindsight he would have preferred if the pace had not been steadied so significantly in the middle stages, however he was of the view that other than being one position further back than he would have like he ultimately felt that the chances of the filly were unaffected as the horse was able to improve into the race from the 600m and was still travelling and following the winner when entering the home straight.  Stewards noted the explanation.
