MAHARG Slow to begin. Improved onto heels leaving 700m and was steadied. Checked to avoid another runners heels which shifted out near the 400m.
 
SIDTHEKID Fractious in the barriers prior to the start and began awkwardly shifting out brushing with another runner. Threw its head in the air when being restrained near leaving the 700m.
 
CRAIGLEA VELVET Began awkwardly and shifted in brushing another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
CRAIGLEA CETINA Raced wide in the early stages of the race.
 
FORTUNATO BAMBINO
Raced wide in the early stages of the race.
 
FINE NN DEVINE Rider A. Thomson pleaded guilty to a charge under A.R 137(a) in that near the 400m she directed her mount outwards to obtain clear running when insufficiently clear of MAHARG (L. Tilley) which was checked to avoid that runners heels. Ms Thomsonns license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days to commence midnight 21 October 2017 and to expire midnight 2 November 2017.
 
RACE 3: MAKK ELECTRICAL BENCHMARK 65 HHCAP 1609MM
 
Correct weight was delayed when app A Thomson (ROYAL STANDING) returned to scale at 57.5kg after weighing out for the race 58kg. After hearing submissions from rider, apprentice A. Thomson and trainer A. Molino, and acting under the provisions of A.R143 (a) Stewards declared correct weight on the judgees semaphored numbers. At a subsequent inquiry, Ms Thomson explained that due to lighter rides later in the day she had refrained from any intake of fluids and due to the days sultry conditions may have lost that weight in perspiration. As Stewards could not be satisfied any rule had been breached, no further action was taken other than to advise Ms Thomson of the serious ramifications should she have weighed in, in excess of a half kilogram under the horses allotted weight.

RACE 4: PURE AV EVENTS BENCHMARK 70 HHCAP 1400M
 
DONNT TELL PETE Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

TURKEY BEACK Over-raced in the early stages.

BANOFFE Delayed the start when unable to be loaded. Was declared a late scratching 3.29pm. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on the mare were ordered to be refunded with following deductions to be applicable:
 
DELTA MAGIC: 3 cents in the dollar for the win & 4 cents in the dollar for the place.
CHATEAU MAROUX: 4 cents in the dollar for the place.
KAHUNA: 5 cents in the dollar for the place.
 
Trainer Ms L. McCormack advised stewards it is now her intention that the mare now be retired from racing but was nonetheless advised should BANOFFE return to racing it must perform to the satisfaction of Stewards on two occasions and further that its nomination would be refused at TAB meetings until such time it displayed consistent manners in parading and barrier behavior by way of country meetings.
 
DOUBLE FORTUNE Slow to begin.
 
FALVERENA Slow to begin.
 
LUARICA Began awkwardly and shifted in losing ground. Held up for clear running from the 500m until near the 100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a muscle injury to its near fore leg. Trainer A. Cameron was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to horse being permitted to race again.
 
NEED FINANCE Crowded for room shortly after the start. Improved onto heels near the 450m and was steadied. Crowded for room near the 200m.
 
ALL ART Began awkwardly.
 
CHATEAU MAROUX Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
TECZA Raced wide for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have lacerations to its off hind leg.

RACE 6: CES CIVIL NQ OPEN HHCAP 1200M
 
LILLY KAREENA Connections advised it is their intention that the mare be ridden off the pace with cover if circumstances permit. The was horse ridden accordingly. Over-raced in the middle stages and was steadied.
 
ACCIDENTAL Slow to begin.
 
MAN AROUND TOWN Slow to begin. Over-raced shortly after the start and shifted out near the 900m hampering another runner and raced wide from that point onwards. Crowded for room near the 200m..
 
PINYARDA Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Crowded for room near the 200m..      
 
METALIC CROWN Hampered by another runner near the 900m.
 
CRAIGLEA DEKEN Shifted out near the 200m under pressure crowding runners to its outside.. 
 
RACE 7: COMMANDER CTR TSV CLASS 3 PLATE 1200MM
 
WE FOUND IT Trainer A. Cameron was reprimanded for the late declaration of C. Whiteley as the rider of that gelding.
