CASINO BLUE – Slow to begin.

When questioned regarding the tactics adopted in the home straight as to why he did not take an available run to the inside near the 200m, apprentice M. Schrapel advised that initially he committed his mount to the outside and by the time he was able to change course to the inside the run was closing and he did not feel it was safe to pressure his mount to improve into that position. Stewards noted the explanation.

ATOUCHMORE – Raced wide from the 600m.
WAKE UP SAILOR – Raced wide until near the 800m.

A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
