GENERAL
 
As Apprentice B Nothdurft was stood down and not riding at the meeting, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary.
 
 
RACE 1: KILLARNEY CO-OP MAIDEN PLATE 800M.
 
HUGHSTAAD – Made contact with another runner shortly after jumping.
 
HOOKED A BEAUTY – Slipped behind on jumping away and lost ground.
 
KESHA’S KHORUS - Began awkwardly.
 
DIEHARD DIVA – Tightened for room shortly after the start. Upon returning to scale, the rider reported that the mare did not travel well throughout and her effort over the concluding stages proved disappointing.
 
JAREL’S DRAGON – Tightened for room shortly after the start subsequently losing ground
 
CLANG AGAIN – Jumped in at the start.
 
CHEVY’S DESIRE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
HOLS SPRINGSTEEN – Apprentice S. Sweeney was reprimanded for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
 
RACE 2: RAY BUNCH MACHINERY BENCHMARK 50 HCAP 800M.
 
MELLORE –Began awkwardly.
 
EXCEEDINGLY KOOL – Tightened for room at the start.
 
PARELEMA – Raced wide down the home straight.
 
STRIDE OF PRIDE – Raced wide throughout.
 
CAPTAIN CLAYTON – Raced wide throughout.
 
CAN HE RAP – Upon returning to scale, jockey C. Eaton reported that in her opinion the horse failed to handle the track conditions of today’s event.
 

RACE 3: VERONICA’S ON WILLOW/SMITHS FARMS-THE FALLS KILLARNEY QTIS BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP 1100M-
 
CARD OF CORDER - Trainer B. Robinson was fined $100 under AR. 59A for failing to produce a Thoroughbred Identification Card.
 
DREAMERS GOAL – Trainer P. Sexton was fined $100 for failing to declaring a rider by the prescribed time.
 
INTERLUDE – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running down the home straight.
 
ENSIGN – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
RED HOT SECRET – Raced in restricted room shortly after the start and had to be restrained.
 
CONMIGO – Tightened for room at the start. Was forced to be checked at the 850m when racing in restricted room.
 
FAIR RULER – Raced wide over the middle stages and rounding the home turn.
 
WHISPERING WINGS – Jockey B. Appo was reprimanded for using the whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
ROYAL DOLLAR – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide from the 600m.
 
MY CRIMSON LAD – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
RACE 4: VERONICA’S ON WILLOW/SMITHS FARMS-THE FALLS KILLARNEY QTIS BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP 1100M-
 
CURRENT FIGURES- Began awkwardly and was steadied from heels at the 800m.
 
COCKTAIL THONG- Tightened for room at the start.
 
FACE THE SUN- After becoming fractious, was removed from the barriers, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start. Tightened for room shortly after the start. Jockey P Hamblin was reprimanded for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
GOLOVKIN- Jumped with its head in the air and lost ground. Hung out for a short distance near the 800m.
 
MOLLY MIYAKO- Bumped by another runner near the 100m. Jockey N Evans the rider of GOLOVKIN was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift out at the point of the race.
 
RUNAWAY ANGEL- Trainer C White was fined $100 for failing to produce the I.D Card for the horse when required to do so. Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground.
 
KARAHARAGA- Raced wide in the early stages.
 
 
RACE 5: WARWICK CREDIT UNION BENCHMARK 45 HACP 1350M-
 
HYPNOTIZING- Slow to begin.
 
LUNA TUNE- Slow to begin.
 
GRAND CHEVAL- Bumped at the start and lost ground. Steadied from heels at the 1200m. Raced wide throughout. Jockey C Eaton was fined $200 for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
RED RAGGA- Began awkwardly and bumped another runner.
 
RACE 6: DAVID CORY BENCHMARK 45 H’CAP 1350M-
 
MATCH DAY- Slow to begin.
 
REGULARITY- Raced wide throughout.
 
EXCITEMENT LEVELS- Steadied from heels near the 900m.
 
A protest was entered by Jockey T Chambers the rider of the 3rd placegetter ARSON ANNIE against the winner LANDED (P Hamblin) on the grounds of interference from the 250m. After taking evidence from all relevant parties and viewing the patrol footage, Stewards dismissed the protest. In dismissing the protest Stewards were of the opinion that whilst LANDED did shift in marginally near the 150m brushing ARSON ANNIE, and interference caused was insufficient to reverse the placings given the 2 length margin between the runners at the conclusion of the event.
 
 
RACE 7: KILLARNEY CUP BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP
 
HESSIAN- Slow to begin. Eased when tightened for room on the home turn. Jockey K Yoshida was reprimanded for permitting BOOMI DAZZLLER to shift out at that point of the race.
 
SNUGGLEPOT- Raced keenly throughout the event.
 
PALEFACE ALI- Raced wide from the 700m.
 
JAI’S LUCK- Slow to begin. Rider reported the horse failed to handle the track conditions.
 
BOOMI DAZZLER- Jockey Yoshida reported on returning to scale that the horse failed to handle the track conditions.
