Fields for Metropolitan race meetings are selected by the RQL Field Selection Panel in accordance with the Race Field Selection Policy - Metropolitan Meetings. The Automatic Field Selection System and the unfulfilled engagement rule are not applicable.
RACE FIELD SELECTION POLICY METROPOLITAN MEETINGS
The best credentialed horses in every race will be selected with the RQL Handicapping Panel referring to the following horse performance information:
(All information assessed equally)
a) Current Figure Form (last 6 race starts)
b) Margins Beaten
c) Mile Rates
d) Class of Opposition
e) Class of Races
f) Positions In Running
g) Barrier Draws
h) Interference Received
The horses which in the opinion of the RQL Handicapping Panel have the best overall form based on the above criteria will be declared as starters in the field.
The unfulfilled engagement rule does not apply.
Multiple stable runners can be drawn as the only selection criteria is overall form.
Permission may be granted at the sole discretion of RQL for other Clubs to apply for these conditions on selected events.

Pursuant to Rule 133 (1) & (2) every effort will be made to meet the above conditions, however the inclusion of any horse over another shall not be grounds for requesting a redraw, nor shall any liability of any nature be incurred by RQL or any Club Official as a result of any error. In all cases the decision of the RQL Handicapping Panel will be final.
