RQIS is a breeding and racing incentive scheme for Queensland Standardbred 2yo's and 3yo's.
The RQIS Scheme will distribute some $1.36 million in rich feature prizemoney and race winning bonuses.
As a prospective owner, you can follow one of two paths to be a part of the Racing Queensland Incentive Scheme:
Purchase a RQIS eligible horse
This can be achieved through a private treaty, yearling sales, claiming races, or from advertisements in harness racing publications.
Breed a RQIS eligible foal
There are two ways to breed a RQIS eligible foal - through the sire or through the dam.
A foal will be eligible for RQIS if it is the progeny of:
(a)
a Queensland based stallion - a stallion registered and standing in Queensland
or
(b)
a non-Queensland stallion (mares based scheme) - a mare inseminated in Queensland with the semen of a stallion registered and standing outside of Queensland, at the time of insemination, provided that the foal is born in Queensland, branded in Queensland and is notified to RQL.
