Scope of Works

RQL is proposing a new facility incorporating a first class harness racing facility, thoroughbred training facility and greyhound training track be developed at Deagon. A full master plan incorporating the feedback from all stakeholders involved will only be developed should RQL be successful in the Supreme Court in regards to Albion Park.

The Queensland Government and Racing Queensland Limited (RQL) today unveiled significant changes to the $110 million Industry Infrastructure Plan (IIP) to deliver new and improved racing facilities across the state.

RQL announced a series of public information sessions to be held at its Deagon headquarters in November. These sessions are in addition to the requirements of the public advertising period.

4 November 2011

The public advertising period for the Deagon project will run for 30 business days.  It is planned to run from early December through to early February 2012.

1 November 2011

The Brisbane City Council has provided the acknowledgement notice and an information request is expected by November 10, 2011.

19 October 2011

Brisbane City Council officers attended a site inspection of the Deagon Racecourse at which time potential concerns of council were address by the project team.

3 October 2011

A 'Material Change of Use' development application was lodged with the Brisbane City Council. It is RQLs intention to conduct public consultation on the project in line with the requirements of this application.
