RACE TWO

PATSDELIGHT (5) will strip fitter following her return to the track with a game 1st up effort. Safely away she was locked on the pegs and when she saw open space was really attacking the line in nice style to get within a head of victory. With that added fitness she looks mighty hard to stop in this.

EL SWAVO (7) started off the front-line last start in a T2-5 event and found a nice spot in the running line and it as only the fast-finishing SCORCHED who was able to finish better and grab the win in the last strides. Despite the 20m tape he looks well-placed and in this line-up can challenge.

SOH TWISTED (1) is winless since 2016 however her performances of late have been solid and a win isn’t far away when she can strike the right conditions. Safe from the tapes she will be in the mix.

DOWN UNDER RORS (3) will take good benefit from his latest hit-out when 1st up from a break. Safely away he led them up and it was his condition fading out late that cost him. He won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: PATSDELIGHT (5), EL SWAVO (7), SOH TWISTED (1), DOWN UNDER RORS (3)
SUGGESTED BET: PATSDELIGHT (5) to win

RACE THREE

MIRABAI (4) started a red figure fav on debut here last week and never saw any luck at all. From gate 2 she was able to angle into what looked a good spot in the trail which quickly turned sour and she never saw a gap. She had trialled well in the lead-up and with better luck can bounce back here.

BROKEN ARK (2) is an Art Major colt on debut for Grant Dixon that did everything right in a trial back on Mar 5 when chasing home the smart XAVIERS HURRIKANE. 2 subsequent winners finished behind him in that trial and possessing some strong maternal bloodlines he stays under watch 1st up.

KYRONTA (7) was strong on debut when forced to face the breeze after circling early from a 2nd line gate at Redcliffe. He made an error last start and if able to put that behind him has place hopes despite the gate.

SHADYS DELIGHT (5) has been sound in both career starts to date, the debut a nice effort when working home from back in the pack. With the added race experience, he can be around the mark.

SELECTIONS: MIRABAI (4), BROKEN ARK (2), KYRONTA (7), SHADYS DELIGHT (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

SHADY SADIE (7)
started from the 20m tape last start and after settling 4 back against the pegs sprouted wings in the closing stages to get within a half-head of the winner. That made it 3 successive 3rd placed finishes in succession following a classy Sat night win 4 starts back. This suits.

JEDDY R YA READY (2) steps up in class but will take great benefit by moving to the front line. Last start from the 30m tape he was hitting the line in good order to grab the bronze after just settling too back under the conditions. A tidy winner 2 starts back, the front-line will be a big plus here.
SCORCHED (2) settled back in the pack last time out and attacked the line to grab a solid win. A winner of the McNeil Final 4 starts back, his next 2 saw him locked away and from the front is right in the fight.

In an open trot where manners and position in run will be vital, SKYFLYER (5) who worked hard 1st up, MATATOKI (8) who will appreciate these conditions and JUSTABITLIKEMUM (1) are all cable enough to chime in.

SELECTIONS: SHADY SADIE (7), JEDDY R YA READY (2), SCORCHED (2), SKYFLYER (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SHADY SADIE (7) to win

RACE FIVE

TUAPEKA LIGHT (4) was a 1st up winner here 5 starts back when finishing off strongly to arrive for the prize. Placed in all 4 starts since that victory, she has struck her star barn-mate SMART AS CAMM BEE in 3 of those and the other chased home the smart ESCALERA. This looks her chance to shine.

BOULDER CITY (6) chased home SMART AS CAMM BE after sitting on her back throughout in a small 3-horse field but had no answer for her power. 2 starts back he sat outside the star filly and only faded the closing stages. With good early speed he can settle handy enough to ask some questions.

HIPSTAR (7) has no favours from the wide gate but he is great touch with a quinella finish in his past 5 starts. He chased home the smart TROJAN BANNER last start which followed a strong 2138m win. Look for him chiming in late.

VICTREE MIKAYLA (2) will take some benefit following her return to the track last start and should be better suited back to the 2138m trip here. Her past 3 have all been from wide or 2nd line gates and she has exotic hopes.

SELECTIONS: TUAPEKA LIGHT (4), BOULDER CITY (6), HIPSTAR (7), VICTREE MIKAYLA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: TUAPEKA LIGHT (4) to win

RACE SIX

SMART AS CAMM BE (2)
will be looking to keep her undefeated start to her 3YO term in-tact and will face the sternest test thus far. Her last start turned into a track work hit-out after scratching’s meant it was a field of 3 and she got home comfortably in 27.6. She might need to work in the run but she is all class.

LEFT A TERROR (1) went into his last start from gate 12 when looking to record his 4th win in succession. It wasn’t his night and didn’t get a clean run when finishing mid-field. His win 2 starts back was solid out in front and that followed a strong win over 2138m. He can make this a contest.

WHERES THE SPIRIT (8) should be able to get a perfect smother run here and be ready to fire some late bullets. He was sound to the line from a long way back last start and can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: SMART AS CAMM BE (2), LEFT A TERROR (1), WHERES THE SPIRIT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SMART AS CAMM BE (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

OUR CHITTYBANGBANG (3) shoots for the hat-trick and if back to mobile conditions from this meeting he can be firing out to take control and dictate. A Band 5 winner on Sat night when finding the pocket trail from gate 4 under the walk-ups and was too slick along the passing lane. He can take this.

JUMPING JOLT (5) took them all the way 3 starts back over the mile in running a career best 1.53.4. He followed that with a strong finish from a 2nd line gate. Last start he was a game 2nd when best of the rest behind an airborne TOM ME GUN. There should be a strong tempo and he can close out hard.

NERIO (1) found the pocket trail last start and used the passing lane to grab the silver behind the smart SOMEPARTYSOMEWHERE. From alley 1 she should get a good trip and will be thereabouts.

OFFTHETOPOFMYHEAD (7) may have been well beaten last start at his Qld debut but he was still able to produce some sharp sectionals. Returning a sharp trial since that run, he stays under notice.

SELECTIONS: OUR CHITTYBANGBANG (3), JUMPING JOLT (5), NERIO (1), OFFTHETOPOFMYHEAD (7)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR CHITTYBANGBANG (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

THATS HOW WEROLL (8)
will need his share of luck from this alley but if able to spot an opening with track to work with, he is worth a chance. Buried away last start he was finding the line in good order and the start prior he was from gate 12 and chasing a slick winner from the front in IM NORMA JEAN.

TOPNOTCH MACH (5) worked hard in the run last start and faded off from the tough run over the 2138m trip. The start prior he was also working hard in the breeze and fought on gamely in a strong mile taken by OUR CHITTYBANGBANG. Still looking for his 1st Qld victory he can challenge for it here.

TELL THE LINESMEN (10) has the tough gate to negotiate but if there is some tempo, he will be closing out strongly. A big winner at Inverell 2 starts back when closing out wide out he is the off-pace hope.

ELMS CREEK (2) finds his best gate for some time and can look to take advantage. He found the line strongly after starting from gate 7 last time out and with the improved gate is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: THATS HOW WEROLL (8), TOPNOTCH MACH (5), TELL THE LINESMEN (10), ELMS CREEK (2)
SUGGESTED BET: THATS HOW WEROLL (8) to win
