RACE TWO

TUAPEKA LIGHT (1) broke a string of placings last start to capitalise with her 2nd race victory since arriving in Qld. Leading from gate 2 over the 2138m trip, she was too strong out in front to claim a comfortable victory. With slick closing speed she can opt for a trail here and go back-to-back.

REGULUS (2) is on the back-up from Sat night where he took on the 3YO C&G Triad. Doing his share of early work in the run he was fighting gamely when 6m from the winner FIRST STRING. A smart winner at Newcastle 2 starts back, he can look for the front and try to stave off the challengers.

GOLDDIGGER GIRL (11) is an interesting returnee to the track, lining up for the 1st time in over 3 and a half years. Regally bred, she has trialled sharply to prepare for the return and stays under notice.

LINCOLNS GIRL (7) lines up for the in form Al Barnes stable for the 2nd time after an easy win in front at her 1st outing over the 1660m trip. The gate hurts but with the added fitness she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: TUAPEKA LIGHT (1), REGULUS (2), GOLDDIGGER GIRL (11), LINCOLNS GIRL (7)
SUGGESTED BET: TUAPEKA LIGHT (1) to win

RACE THREE

MAJESTIC SIMON (6) was able to get around without issue last start and chased hard for the bronze behind the big winner PATSDELIGHT. He has his convictions but if able to get it together, the talent is there and with the confidence of a clean run and the 10m tape, today could be the day.

JEDDY R YA READY (9) started fav last time out from the front line and after taking the early trail was too slick up the passing lane to take the win. He has to move back to the 40m tape under the conditions here which is a big ask, but with a strong finish, look for him charging home late.

DAY TOURER (3) steps up in class to take on this, however he has been in great touch with a top-3 in his past 4 in succession. Included was a win 2 starts back and safe from the tapes is an exotic hope.

MISTER OZ (4) has gone a long stretch without a win now but his past few indicate another win is not far away. His effort last start after an early error from the mobile was solid and he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: MAJESTIC SIMON (6), JEDDY R YA READY (9), DAY TOURER (3), MISTER OZ (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

SPIRIT WALKER (7) had completed a hat-trick of victories with 2 wins at Redcliffe and 1 here over the 2647m trip before a trip to Bathurst for the Carnival. Her run when finishing 2nd was huge after an error and she went within a half-neck of the prize. Despite the gate she can make a winning return.

SCORCHED (8) was looking to complete a hat-trick of win last start when starting from the 30m tape he chased gamely when mid-field behind JEDDY R YA READY. A winner via the passing lane 2 starts back, he should get a soft trip here and with a strong finishing sprint will be probing for openings.

MELPARK MAGIC (1) was safely away from the tapes here 3 starts back when using the passing lane to score and then last start was only grabbed in the closing stages. With a cosy trip he can challenge.

HELLBOUND (4) was a winner under mobile conditions here 5 starts back when dictating in front from gate 2. All starts since have been from the tapes and the return to his favoured start type suits.

SELECTIONS: SPIRIT WALKER (7), SCORCHED (8), MELPARK MAGIC (1), HELLBOUND (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SPIRIT WALKER (7) to win

RACE FIVE

SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (3) was locked away in the run last run when starting from inside the 2nd line and being buried 3 back in transit. Looking for the gaps he was closing in good order to be 5m from the winner in some smart closing panels. He can look to get forward here and capitalise.

THE IDES OF MARCH (7) features in a stable change and will line up for the visiting Shane Sanderson yard. Looking for luck last start from gate 12 and angled to the pegs, there was plenty to like about how he attacked the line late. Plagued by bad manners in recent runs, if on his game he is in the fight.

LOTS MORE ART (2) found the pocket trail last start when mid-field behind A GOOD CHANCE. He flashed home hard from a long way back 3 starts back and saved for 1 shot can finish hard.

FIOKI (5) used the passing lane last start when charging late to be within 1.5m of the winner POLISHED ROCKS. An opportunist, he will be probing for cheap runs and flashing late.

SELECTIONS: SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (3), THE IDES OF MARCH (7), LOTS MORE ART (2), FIOKI (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (3) to win

RACE SIX

CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (4) is only lightly raced and faces his sternest test to date, but with the power looking to come from the back line, he might just be able to capitalise on the gate advantage. Sent forward from the 2nd line walk-up last time he was a smart winner from the front. Can take his shot.

TENNYSON BROMAC (9) resumes from a break after being sighted 3 times last prep following his arrival from NZ. His 1st up win was a smart effort when working home wide out and then at his next 2 starts he was forced to cut the breeze in each. Without a public trial, fitness is the key.

PARAVANI (1) led from gate 4 last start to take control and once in front was able to score a classy win in a career best 1.53.2 rate. That followed a 2nd to PINUP BOY when chasing and he can attack late.

MACHIN OUT (1) doesn’t win often but he is never far from the action and always runs a consistent race. He charged home to grab the silver last start behind the smart TROJAN BANNER and the gate suits.

SELECTIONS: CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (4), TENNYSON BROMAC (9), PARAVANI (10), MACHIN OUT (1)
SUGGESTED BET:  Exotics 1-4-9-10

RACE SEVEN

PACIFIC DRUMS (1) was after the hat-trick last start when landing gate 11 he was forced to make a late run with some smart closing sectionals making it hard going. Leading throughout to win at both the mile and middle distance at his previous 2 starts, he has conditions to suit a lamp lighting victory.

LANCELOT BROMAC (8) has regained some form after a long winless stretch and has 2 wins and a placing in his past 6 starts. He charged home to score from the 2nd line over the mile here 2 starts back and then last start was taking on a strong field when 4th to LILAC FLASH. He will look for the passing lane.

CASTALONG SHADOW (6) lines up for Shane Sanderson for the 1st time with the eleven-time and former G1 winning 2YO last seen back in Feb. With 2 smart trials in readiness, he is in the mix.

HEZ ALL COURAGE (10) steps out for the Jack Butler yard for the 1st time after some close up runs in Sat night company. He attacked the line strongly last start when 5m from OUR MAJOR DAY and can feature.

SELECTIONS: PACIFIC DRUMS (1), LANCELOT BROMAC (8), CASTALONG SHADOW (6), HEZ ALL COURAGE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: PACIFIC DRUMS (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

TOMEARA (6) claimed a smart victory in a qualifier 2 starts back when leading throughout in a career best 1.53.3 rate. Landing inside the 2nd line at his next start he was diving late to go under a half-head. He faces a tricky alley here but with the right cart home can arrive for the prize.

BUNDABURRA (5) resumes from a break after a short 4-start prep last time that returned 3 placings followed by a last start victory from gate 11. Charging home wide out he was strong in the closing stages to break clear to a 13m victory. If forward enough in condition he will give this a shake.

OUR CHITTYBANGBANG (8) will need a slice of luck from this alley but if the gaps arrive, he can be charging late. He was gripping on to hold 3rd after a tough run last start and can chime in here.

LUCKY ARTIST (4) was luckless at her Qld debut here on Fri when the gaps never opened and she never saw clear air. Finding a handy position from this alley she can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: TOMEARA (6), BUNDABURRA (5), OUR CHITTYBANGBANG (8), LUCKY ARTIST (4)
SUGGESTED BET: TOMEARA (6) to win

RACE NINE

LILAC FLASH (10) was sent forward from gate 7 over the 2138m last start and from the breeze packed too many guns to fight them off and score narrowly. His run the start prior was a top effort after striking early trouble and then never really seeing space. He will be charging home late.

ALLELUIA (7) found conditions to suit last start and after securing the pocket trail was too slick up the passing lane to score. He had been racing well without luck from the barriers and despite landing the outside alley here, should find this a little easier than the Sat night FFA ranks and can chime in.

IM THE SMOOCHA (9) was sent to the breeze from gate 11 last start when resuming from a spell and in a strongly run 2138m trip, his condition gave out. Fitter for the outing he can bounce back.

SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (4) had no luck whatsoever last start and after looking like the lead may have been available was then snagged all the way back to end her chances. With a cleaner run in transit she can podium.

SELECTIONS: LILAC FLASH (10), ALLELUIA (7), IM THE SMOOCHA (9), SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (4)
SUGGESTED BET: LILAC FLASH (10) to win
