RACE TWO

NORTHERN MUSCLE (9) returns from a freshen after tapering off somewhat, however he had met the higher-class performers at his past 3 starts. A winner 4 starts back when working home strongly from a 40m tape at AP over the 2138m, he is a two-time winner here and can arrive in time here.

REDRIVERDEBBA (8) took on the 2138m mobile at AP last start and was finding the line in good order when 6m from the winner HELLBOUND. Making an error at the start 2 runs back, that had followed successive placings when not far away. With a safe start she will be right in the fight.

DAY TOURER (5) has been in the money at his past 5 starts in succession and last start stepped to the front and was grabbed late to hold 3rd. His Marburg record is not great but he is racing well.

SOH TWISTED (1) was safely away last start and after leading early released the speed before holding on for 2nd. Safe from the tapes she can be in the right position early to feature late.

SELECTIONS: NORTHERN MUSCLE (9), REDRIVERDEBBA (8), DAY TOURER (5), SOH TWISTED (1)
SUGGESTED BET: NORTHERN MUSCLE (9) to win

RACE THREE

INCITER (2) rolled to the breeze from gate 3 over the Redcliffe sprint trip 2 starts back and was in for the fight when 4m from the winner TEARAWAY DIAMOND. On the back-up from Wed night where he wasn’t far away after working in the run. A Marburg track specialist, he can add to his tally in this.

MEANT TO BE ME (1) resumes from a break after being shut down back in November after leading them up and then fading in the latter stages. Preparing for her return with a nice trial hit-out at Redcliffe, she has good speed from the gate and will be a big danger in this.

MOLLIGUANNA (7) will have the benefit of moving in 1 position and from inside the 2nd line should get a great trip. A strong winner here 2 starts back when wide off the track, she will be probing.

PURE MADNESS (3) is 2 from 5 on the track and should find this more suitable after a tough trip when working in the early stages last start. Placed in her previous 2 starts she can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: INCITER (2), MEANT TO BE ME (1), MOLLIGUANNA (7), PURE MADNESS (3)
SUGGESTED BET: INCITER (2) to win

RACE FOUR

SPORTS STORY (1)
made an early error in her heat before re-setting and rolling forward to do the hard yards outside the leader and winner ESCALERA. That followed a close-up run behind HIPSTAR over the AP sprint trip. If able to step cleanly and bring her manners, she can look to cash-in.

WHERES THE SPIRIT (9) was only 3m from the winner of his heat after having a luckless run in transit. He made an early error and then was probing for runs when hitting the line in good order from back in the pack. That was his 1st from the tapes and he will be sharper for the experience.

FLYING WINGARD (4) was having his 1st look at Marburg and the tapes last start when sent out fav for his heat. Fitter for the run after being 1st up from a break, he can feature with a safe start here.

VILLAGE CRUISER (3) has been in the money at his past 3 starts and will be fitter following his heat run when 1st up from a break. After an early error he worked in the run and can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: SPORTS STORY (1), WHERES THE SPIRIT (9), FLYING WINGARD (4), VILLAGE CRUISER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-4-9

RACE FIVE

ITSADANCEOFF (1) wasn’t suited last start from the tapes and finished well down the track. His 2 runs prior to that were off 2nd line draws where he was just too far back in the pack to challenge. With the gate advantage he can show his early speed and look to recapture some winning form.

DONNY JONES (6) found the line nicely to grab the silver in restricted company at AP 2 starts back and followed that with a strong run when only 6m from the winner. From this gate he should get a perfect trip and if able to work into space can look to issue a closing challenge.

WILLS (7) will find this more suitable than his last outing when down the line from the stand behind ARGYLE BEACH. Still searching for his best form since arriving in Qld, he can use this to help in his quest.

LETHAL STAR (5) was locked away on the pegs last start at Redcliffe and was hitting the line in good order after starting from gate 10. The wide gate hurts but she can issue a challenge in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: ITSADANCEOFF (1), DONNY JONES (6), WILLS (7), LETHAL STAR (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

ARGYLE BEACH (7)
closed out strongly from back in the pack to claim victory here on Monday in a stylish effort. That took her record to 3 wins from 5 outings on the track and followed a strong run when 2nd up from a spell and only 3.5m from FRANCO TOTEM after working hard. She can take this.

THE SHADY ONE (9) hit the line in good style in his heat after looking to be in a spot of bother. Finding the line strongly it was an impressive victory in some smart closing sectionals. He will need his slice of luck in transit but with factors in his favour can arrive for the prize.

GANGSTER BOY (10) wasn’t the cleanest of starters but was able to work around them early to face the breeze. In for the fight it took a smart run from ARGYLE BEACH to run him down. He will be in the fight again.

FRANCO TOTEM (8) was around them early in his heat to find the breeze and fought on gamey when claiming the silver behind THE SHADY ONE. A slick all the way winner over the mile 2 starts back, he will be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: ARGYLE BEACH (7), THE SHADY ONE (9), GANGSTER BOY (10), FRANCO TOTEM (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ARGYLE BEACH (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

ESCALERA (2) started a short-priced fav in his heat when stepping cleanly and from the front was able to dictate, including a sharp closing 800m in 58 flat. With the benefit of the 10m head-start here, he can look to get to the front once again with a safe getaway to claim Marburg’s biggest prize.

GOALKICKER (4) made a mess of the start in her heat when having her 1st look at the tapes. Re-setting and finding running line cover she was able to run home to grab 3rd. With the benefit of the experience she can be sharper here and throw down a challenge.

BRONZE ECSTASY (5) proved too strong from the breeze in his heat after being away steady and content to park out. Too strong in the run home to score by 6m, he landed his 3rd win on the track and can feature again here.

BRIAN WHO (8) has the 20m tape to overcome but looks the best placed of those from a handicap. Strong in the heat when sent forward to face the breeze, that followed a sharp run behind TROJAN BANNER and he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: ESCALERA (2), GOALKICKER (4), BRONZE ECSTASY (5), BRIAN WHO (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ESCALERA (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

MY WINGMAN (1)
had little luck last start when looking for gaps that never opened after starting from the 2nd line over the Redcliffe sprint trip. With good early speed off the arm, he finds his chance to take up his preferred position lighting the lamps and can dictate here.

CROCODILE PRINCESS (6) was wide off the track when trying to work into the contest last start and couldn’t make any head-way. Tough from the breeze 2 starts back when fighting on to grab 3rd, she will get the cosy trip here and can make a late charge if the gaps arrive.

FUTURE FUN (7) found his race on Wed night and from gate 3 was able to make the most of conditions to take them all the way. In good touch this prep, he can make a challenge.

ARTS PEREGRINE (8) was locked away on the pegs last start and looking for gaps when finishing mid-field. He found the line in good order last start and can be running on late in this to fill a minor.

SELECTIONS: MY WINGMAN (1), CROCODILE PRINCESS (6), FUTURE FUN (7), ARTS PEREGRINE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MY WINGMAN (1) to win
