RACE TWO

TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (8) has been to the track 3 times this campaign and should be close to a fitness peak. Buried away from inside the 2nd line when resuming, he then took them all the way after stepping cleanly in a Goldstrike heat at Marburg. Only beaten a half-neck in the final when looming strongly, he can arrive off the tempo.

SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (5) returns to the Drew Turton barn after racing with an absence of luck in recent outings. Left exposed in the breeze 2 starts back, he fought gamely for 3rd behind the in-form FEELINGFORARAINBOW. Charging home the start prior in a qualifier, he can bounce back in this.

SUBTLE ADVICE (1) will take good benefit from his return to the track last start. Settling in the pocket trail from gate 1, he held on for the bronze. With a similar trip he can again chime in.

MO JARNEY (4) has good speed and if able to illicit enough of the early speed at release, might just be able to get across them here. From the front he would be in the mix, a position he was a winner from 5 starts back.

SELECTIONS: TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (8), SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (5), SUBTLE ADVICE (1), MO JARNEY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (8) to win

RACE THREE

LIFES BLACK (2)
was looking to make it 4 in succession last start when finishing as the runner-up. Losing no admirers in the process, he did a mountain of work after being repelled for the leading role and forced to breeze. Trying to pinch it, he was nabbed on the line, beaten a head. He can bounce back.

PACIFIC DRUMS (7) has been kept fresh and lines up for the 1st time since Feb. Sent forward from gate 6 and carving out the 1st panel in 26 flat, the early effort took its toll when fading in the latter stages. Needing a slice of luck from this gate, if he can see some space, he can build on his 4 from 6 record here at the triangle.

MAJOR SCORE (1) has placed at his past 3 starts, the latest on Wed night when eased back to find position. Only 2m in arrears the start prior, with the cosy trip he can strike in the stretch.

ELMS CREEK (4) will take benefit from his latest appearance when returning from a spell. Locked away from inside the 2nd line, it was a sound return and finding position cheaply can chime in.

SELECTIONS: LIFES BLACK (2), PACIFIC DRUMS (7), MAJOR SCORE (1), ELMS CREEK (4)
SUGGESTED BET: LIFES BLACK (2) to win

RACE FOUR

The 2nd heat of this series looks an open contest where if the tempo is right, LITTLE BOLT (8) might be able to arrive for the prize. Locked away from inside the 2nd line last start, he was always facing a task when the leader was able to slip home in 56.5. Strong in the breeze from gate 6 the start prior, he is worth a ticket.

DE VOYAGE (1) was a late scratching after an incident in the preliminary last time she attended the track. The start prior to that she found the line in nice style to grab the bronze behind the in-form B MAC C. The query is her fitness here 1st up in 7 weeks, however with the options form the gate, looms large.

CUT FROM ROCK (2) comes into this with 2 wins in her past 4 starts, the latest when resuming from a spell. Settling back in the pack as the speed was on early, she finished too strongly for a classy win. A talented filly, she can’t be dismissed.

LETTERKENNY BOY (6) is on the back-up from Thursday where he looked a good chance. Closing nicely to grab the silver 2 starts back over the AP 2138m trip, he faces a tough gate but has claims.

SELECTIONS: LITTLE BOLT (8), DE VOYAGE (1), CUT FROM ROCK (2), LETTERKENNY BOY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-6-8

RACE FIVE

ARBIT MAJOR (6) doesn’t have any favours from this gate, however should find this an easier class of opponent than recent outings. Winning here over the 2040m last start in the stewards room after a narrow across the line defeat, he was gunned down here the start prior. With the right luck from the gate, he can get this win on the track.

DARBY BRIGHTS (1) has placed at her past 2 starts, the latest from the 2nd line at Marburg when working home well behind IDEAL TIGER. Buried away and holding on for 3rd  at the same track 2 starts back, she lands the gate for a cosy trip and is getting closer to ending a long winless streak.

HALF MOON BEACH (7) was sent to the post as fav last start and after setting the tempo was grabbed in the closing stages. Runner-up the start prior after working in the run, he can place again.

UNDERTHEKILT (3) was sent to the pegs looking for the shortcuts here last start and was best of the chasing pack behind the big winner BE ON THE SLY. Settling handy from this gate, he can add another minor to his tally.

SELECTIONS: ARBIT MAJOR (6), DARBY BRIGHTS (1), HALF MOON BEACH (7), UNDERTHEKILT (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ARBIT MAJOR (6) to win

RACE SIX

HEADWIN (4) was a rare winner via the passing lane 2 starts back, sprinting sharply to claim a half-neck victory. Normally doing his best work when finding the lamp lighting duties, he can look to spear across here to fulfil that role. Doing it the tough way last start in a stronger line-up, this looks ideal.

SWEET JASMINE (7) was a winner over the 2040m here 2 starts back when sailing home strongly down the outside to arrive after starting from the 2nd line. Taken to Marburg last start, she was facing a task when chasing with the leader dictating in front. She can be probing for gaps here.

STARZZZ ON HIGH (1) has good early speed and has only been able to call on that once in her past 4 starts. That was when holding on for 3rd after setting the tempo. From the gate she is in the mix.

SHEZ GOT BLING (6) made a mess of things and missed the start here last time out. That followed a down the line effort at her 1st Qld start and despite the wide gate, look for a sharper run in this.

SELECTIONS: HEADWIN (4), SWEET JASMINE (7), STARZZZ ON HIGH (1), SHEZ GOT BLING (6)
SUGGESTED BET: HEADWIN (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

WILLSINTOWN (2) hasn’t tasted the winners water for some time, but he might just have found the right conditions here. Drawn off the 2nd line at his past 4 in succession, he was just too far back last start when trying to chase. With great speed off the arm, he can settle in a prominent position to breakthrough.

INCITER (8) worked forward from gate 6 last time over the sprint trip and was able to find the 1x1 trail. Chasing hard he held on for the bronze behind MISTER FAHRENHEIT. Not suited when sitting outside the leader here 2 starts back, he is never too far away and trailing through early can challenge.

JUST ONE GOOD ONE (5) might find this easier than his past couple at AP where he has run into some handy 3YO’s. Arriving to score a tidy win 3 starts back, he is right in the fight.

TICK OF THE CLOCK (7) was sketchy from the tapes last start at Marburg before chasing well to be 4m from the winner. A passing lane 2nd here 2 starts back, with the easy trip he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: WILLSINTOWN (2), INCITER (8), JUST ONE GOOD ONE (5), TICK OF THE CLOCK (7)
SUGGESTED BET: WILLSINTOWN (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

The 3rd heat of this series where SPEECHCRAFT (7) will be sweating on MAJOR LUCKY holding them wide. With that scenario looking likely, he should secure the perfect trip and be all dressed up ready to dance up the lane. Luckless last start, it followed a 3rd to the in-form ETERNAL PROMISE.

SIRIUS VICKI (4) settled in the running line last start and when asked to sprint descended upon them quickly to take a 3m victory. Charging home the start prior after being locked away on the pegs and then only falling a neck short of the prize, finding cheap position, she can be swooping here.

MAJOR LUCKY (1) was always facing a task here on Wed in a Trot Rods heat when easing and chasing in vain. That followed a sound effort from gate 7 and with the advantage of the ace, can look to dictate.

VANTO HANOVER (3) took on a mares qualifier last start when sent forward from the 2nd line and doing it the tough way. 3rd here 2 starts back from the pocket trail, she can be chiming in here.

SELECTIONS: SPEECHCRAFT (7), SIRIUS VICKI (4), MAJOR LUCKY (1), VANTO HANOVER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SPEECHCRAFT (7) to win

RACE NINE

COBBLER LANE (2) started fav here 2 starts back over the 2040m when from gate 3, he was forced to do it the tough way prior to fading out. Running into the star filly PELOSI last time, he has the benefit of a smart record here on the triangle and looks to get his chance to bounce back into form.

HESLUVABLE (5) started from a 10m tape in the Goldstrike Consolation last start and was able to find the position behind the leader and followed home to grab the silver. Within 3m of the winner in his heat of that series after making an early error, he can look to make the challenge here.

MONTANA LAD (7) has been meeting some much stronger opponents prior to a spell and returns here to a track where he has not looked comfortable in 2 previous outings. The cosy trip suits 1st up and with added race-craft since last venturing here, can’t be ignored.

BE ON THE SLY (8) was able to keep them wide last start and rolling in even sections from the front was able to cruise home to a big 16m victory. The 2nd line stings, but he can look to build off the last start.

SELECTIONS: COBBLER LANE (2), HESLUVABLE (5), MONTANA LAD (7), BE ON THE SLY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: COBBLER LANE (2) to win

RACE TEN

WECANONLYHOPE (1) progressed to the Goldstrike Final over the 2200m from the tapes at Marburg last time out when making an error when the strands were released. Stepping cleanly and leading throughout to win her heat, that followed a 2nd here over this trip. With options she can take this.

MISTER DECORUM (8) worked to the front at Marburg over the sprint trip 2 starts back when nabbed right on the line by a swooping IDEAL TIGER. On the one-day back-up, he was sent to the breeze over this trip last time, fading in the closing stages. With the right run in transit, this is within his reach.

MEGA STAR (5) features in a stable switch and will line up for the Jack Butler barn for the 1st time. A beaten fav here last start, he hasn’t been able to snare a gate for a few outings, but can feature.

DOOLITTLE DANDY (7) found running line position from gate 5 last start and chased home to grab the silver behind MISTER FAHRENHEIT. With an easy trip on offer, he will be probing for openings.

SELECTIONS: WECANONLYHOPE (1), MISTER DECORUM (8), MEGA STAR (5), DOOLITTLE DANDY (7)
SUGGESTED BET:
