RACE TWO

ESCALERA (7) looks a very smart juvenile and last start completed a hat-trick of victories from his 3 Aus starts. His win from this gate 2 starts back was a strong effort when doing plenty of work and then last start he packed too much closing power. This looks his to take.

LEFT A TERROR (1) did his share of work from gate 5 in the Triad final and stuck on well behind FIRST STRING. Last start he looked to take them all the way when it was only the smart ESCALERA that got the better of him. With good early speed he will lead deep into the stretch.

DATITUDE (3) was a tidy winner at Redcliffe on debut when doing it untroubled from the front. Taking the experience from that win he will be right in the mix here.

MY ULTIMATE ROMEO (5) features in a stable change and will line up for Donny Smith for the first time. Beaten 4m behind ESCALERA last start he has yet to miss a cheque in 5 career starts.

SELECTIONS: ESCALERA (7), LEFT A TERROR (1), DATITUDE (3), MY ULTIMATE ROMEO (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ESCALERA (7) to win

RACE THREE

REGAL ROCK (1) tried to take them all the way from this same gate here 4 starts back and was in front everywhere bar the last few strides when claimed by MERRYMACH. He backed that up with a strong Redcliffe win from gate 10 and from the ace in this field he looks mighty hard to stop.

NAUGHTYINHEAVEN (9) has really started to put it together in recent times and comes into this as the runner-up in 4 of her past 5 appearances. Last start from the pocket trail she gave the handy MACHITELLI a scare when running her to a neck. With the right trail home she can challenge.

BETTERTHANN TORQUE (8) was buried away along the markers from gate 3 last start and chased gamely when 6m from MACHITELLI. With the cosy trip she can look to feature in the placings.

TOO GOOD FOR YOU (3) worked hard in the run last start from gate 6 at Redcliffe when just fading in the stretch. Placed at his previous 2 starts in similar company he can look to chime in again.

SELECTIONS: REGAL ROCK (1), NAUGHTYINHEAVEN (9), BETTERTHANN TORQUE (8), TOO GOOD FOR YOU (3)
SUGGESTED BET: REGAL ROCK (1) to win

RACE FOUR

GOOD BOY OLIVER (1)
tried to take them all the way last start from gate 3 and burned a sub 28 opener and then couldn’t see it out when finishing 6m from the winner. Mixing bad gates with tough runs and little luck, he gets the chance to make his own luck in front here.

EPIRUS BOY (9) was in the pocket trail from gate 1 last start when holding on for the bronze but never looking a threat. That followed a wide run from gate 6 where he had to cover plenty of territory. With the right trail through he can be finishing hard.

MONUMENTAL (2) was buried on the pegs last start and probing for a run and may have finished closer than the 4m 3rd if able to find the space. He can settle handy and is a threat in this line-up.

EARL JUJON (5) worked hard in the run last start when facing the breeze from gate 4 over the mile and fighting hard. He had met some tougher opponents at his previous 2 and has claims again here.

SELECTIONS: GOOD BOY OLIVER (1), EPIRUS BOY (9), MONUMENTAL (2), EARL JUJON (5)
SUGGESTED BET: GOOD BOY OLIVER (1) to win

RACE FIVE

LOCKTON LUCK (7) has the wide gate to overcome but has been racing against some tough opponents in recent weeks. His run in the 4YO C’ship was a tidy effort and he backed that up with a strong win at the mile. Luckless in an M0 last Sat from gate 6, he can atone for that here.

BUCKHORN EXCHANGE (8) landed the prize here 3 starts back after being buried away from an inside 2nd line gate and finishing strongly along the pegs to score. Mid-field behind ROCK WITH SAM last start he will get the perfect trip here and can be poised to take the closing shot.

OFFICANADO (1) resumes from a break after last racing back in December of 2017. Starting fav in that race from gate 1 he was a 7m 2nd. With a nice trial to prepare he will take improvement.

ALWAYS MY MATE (6) was charging home from back in the pack last start to get within 2m of the winner SWEET AS. TToo far back from the 2nd line 2 starts back he can chime in late here.

SELECTIONS: LOCKTON LUCK (7), BUCKHORN EXCHANGE (8), OFFICANADO (1), ALWAYS MY MATE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: LOCKTON LUCK (7) to win

RACE SIX

LIFEINHEAVEN (4)
has claimed the bronze at her past 2 starts, the latest when 3 back along the inside and hitting the line in good style behind TELL THE LINESMEN. She was attacking the line strongly here 2 starts back and with even luck in transit she can arrive in time to take this.

VINTAGE DREAM (8) has been in the money at her past 5 in succession including a strong win at Redcliffe 5 starts back when powering home wide off the track. Over the mile 2 starts back she went within a head of the winner TROUBLESOME DAVE and with the cosy trip can be ready to strike.

ARTFUL MAID (1) was returning from a freshen at Redcliffe 2 starts back and sent to the front was never in danger when scoring a 4m victory. She met a handy line-up last start and from the gate gets her chance.

HEAVENS HURRICANE (3) will be 1st-up from a spell and was last seen when working hard in the run and proving too strong at the mile. Not asked for much in a recent trial, he stays under notice.

SELECTIONS: LIFEINHEAVEN (4), VINTAGE DREAM (8), ARTFUL MAID (1), HEAVENS HURRICANE (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

NEVAEH (5) was sent forward in the middle stages over the 2040m at Redcliffe last start and was fighting hard to the line when 7m from the winner FRANKS FORTUNE. This is a wide-open contest and with good early speed she can take an early shot and put herself in the right position.

HAVETOGETAWAYMORE (4) hasn’t been that inspiring of late but with this race lacking any stand-outs, she is worthy of thought. Doing her best work when saved for a closing sprint, she should be able to settle handy from this gate and can be ready to issue a challenge.

ROCKWITH THEDEVIL (8) will need a slice of luck from this gate as he looks in danger of being buried in the run. He tried to fight on after racing in the breeze last start and from the gate he has podium hopes.

WANDERING ALLNIGHT (2) was buried away on the pegs here on Tues when he found his opponents over the 2138m trip a bit steep. With a drop in class to this contest he can be sharper here.

SELECTIONS: NEVAEH (5), HAVETOGETAWAYMORE (4), ROCKWITH THEDEVIL (8), WANDERING ALLNIGHT (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

THE IDES OF MARCH (5)
was able to hold them wide last start and punching through from gate 1 took control and took them all the way. He was able to run home a nice closing quarter in that race and stepping out for Donny Smith for the first time can look to make a winning start.

THE FLOYD (3) found his race here last week over the 2138m and after settling back in the pack came with a well-judged run to score a half-head victory. From the gate he can look to press forward and issue a challenge in a race with plenty of chances for the minors.

SUBTLE DELIGHT (8) started fav here on Sat night and working home wide out could only manage 3rd when 5m from the winner GLENFERRIE BABY. He will need plenty of luck from this alley.

SPEEDIE MCARDLE (2) was too far back last start and never got into the contest behind the big-priced winner CORPORAL LUNA. His past 2 have been from wide gates and with the improved alley can feature.

SELECTIONS: THE IDES OF MARCH (5), THE FLOYD (3), SUBTLE DELIGHT (8), SPEEDIE MCARDLE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: THE IDES OF MARCH (5) to win

RACE NINE

CHEAP TINT (4)
will take further benefit from his latest outing when 2nd up from a freshen. Buried away from the inside 2nd line gate, he was attacking the line hard in the closing stages. He can have a good crack for the front here and if able to take control will take some stitching.

IMA MORVERN LAD (2) settled in the pocket trail from gate 1 last start over the 2138m and was able to hit the gap and score a 1m victory. That win broke a long run of outs and with the confidence and the good alley he can look to make it back-to-back wins.

STIRLING WILLIAM (12) pressed forward from gate 7 and did his share of work to get to the breeze and just faded late to be 9m from the winner IMA MORVERN LAD. That followed a tough win off the 2nd line and with the right tempo can look to inject into this race.

YANKEE STRUTTER (9) wasn’t far away behind CHANTREY here 2 starts back and then last start from gate 2 was 10m from MONTANA FALCON. He can trail through in the early stages and has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: CHEAP TINT (4), IMA MORVERN LAD (2), STIRLING WILLIAM (12), YANKEE STRUTTER (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-4-9-12
