RACE TWO

PROFICIENT (2) returns from a freshen and has been taking on slightly stronger line-ups than he meets here. He closed out in good order last start from the 2nd line behind OUR WALL STREET WOLF which followed a good effort when attacking the line. He can fire the first shot and look to dictate.

CALCAVADO (6) added another placing to his tally last start to keep his earning streak ticking over. Sent forward to the breeze from this gate he was best of the chasing pack behind the smart winner SLICE OF HEAVEN. Sent forward once the dust settles, he will be fighting hard once more.

POMPIDOU (4) will benefit from his run here last week when returning from a freshen. Sent forward from the 2nd line he worked in the run behind NERIO. With the improved gate he can feature.

RUATO BAY (1) worked hard in the run last time out in a 2nd division qualifier and was sticking on behind TED WEST. With the cosy trip here he can be ready to take the snipers shot.

SELECTIONS: PROFICIENT (2), CALCAVADO (6), POMPIDOU (4), RUATO BAY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1-2-4-6

RACE THREE

IM FREE FALLING (3) was luckless here last start when carted back by a tiring runner and when he did see open space was attacking the line strongly in an eye-catcher. Forced to cut the breeze at AP 2 starts back the run had merit and he can look to take this.

THE IDES OF MARCH (1) was allowed time to balance up early last start before driving to the front and looking to dictate. Running even panels in front over the 2040m he was grabbed right on the wire by COURAGEOUS LEO. He will need to hustle hard to hold the inside advantage.

PITTSWORTH MAN (4) was a long way back in the pack last start when snagging back from gate 5 and with a slick closing 800m from the front was always up against it. 2nd from the passing lane 2 back he can be thereabouts.

SPONDOOLEY (6) has no favours from the gate but snagging back to look for position will be looking for gaps along the fence. Effective with a closing sprint he has exotic hopes.

SELECTIONS: IM FREE FALLING (3), THE IDES OF MARCH (1), PITTSWORTH MAN (4), SPONDOOLEY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: IM FREE FALLING (3) to win

RACE FOUR

SONNY ORLANDO (7)
secured the pocket trail at AP 2 starts back and angled into the passing lane was able to arrive in time to score. He couldn’t chase last week behind DOWNAN OUT who set a strong closing 800m from the front and with the cosy trip here will be ready to pull the trigger.

ROCKNROLL MUSIC (8) has no favours from this alley but does face a class drop from what he has been meeting. Luckless from a wide gate behind NONE BETTOR last start, his run 3 back was a tidy effort when 6m from PSYCHEDELIC. Just needs to limit his work to feature in this.

KEARNEY LANE (1) has been given a let-up since last seen when fading off behind BOB GAGE. That was her 1st good gate in some time and freshened and back to the good gate she can bounce back.

RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (9) looked to take them all the way in a stronger race than this and was only gunned down in the closing stages by FIFTH EDITION. Look for him making a swooping run.

SELECTIONS: SONNY ORLANDO (7), ROCKNROLL MUSIC (8), KEARNEY LANE (1), RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SONNY ORLANDO (7) to win

RACE FIVE

MY MAGIC MERLIN (6) has no favours from this gate but looks to be racing a touch better than his opponents in recent outings. Too strong from the breeze last start in pulling clear for a 3.5m victory, his run 2 back from this same gate was a solid effort. He can sneak away with the prize in an open race.

PAY ME INTEREST (8) did plenty of work in the run last start after striking trouble and finishing down the line behind VANTO HANOVER. That was her 1st Qld start and with some added work under her belt this is the type of race that she can look to take hold of.

MINI MIRACLE (5) was hitting the line strongly at AP 2 starts back to get within 2m of the winner. Last start she was left standing in a slick 3rd panel but punched on bravely. She can podium here.

MISTER CHOMP (1) has been off the 2nd line at his past 2 starts, the latest when put out of play early when striking trouble. With the improved alley and cosy trip he can be an improver.

SELECTIONS: MY MAGIC MERLIN (6), PAY ME INTEREST (8), MINI MIRACLE (5), MISTER CHOMP (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

MAESTRO MAC (1)
was stuck looking for position last start before working into the running line and finishing 7m from the swooping winner BUDDY BABCOCK. That was his 1st run in one month and taking benefit from that run can look to make the most of the ace draw.

THE DREAM MAKER (10) was buried away on the pegs last start after starting from gate 12 at AP when hitting the line in good order. That followed a strong win from this gate when finishing best to score. This is no harder than that outing and with the right run in transit she is right in the mix.

COAST WARNING (7) looked to take them all the way last start and was fighting to the line when finishing 3m from the winner. With the cosy trip he will be ready to issue a closing challenge.

FLASHING GOOD TIME (2) was off the 2nd line last start when striking trouble and finishing off in good order to grab the bronze. With the improved gate she won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: MAESTRO MAC (1), THE DREAM MAKER (10), COAST WARNING (7), FLASHING GOOD TIME (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MAESTRO MAC (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

TELLELLA (5) has started from the 2nd line at 4 of her past 5 starts with the 1 run when off the front when able to land the win from gate 4. Her run 3 back was a nice effort when charging home in the closing stages. With even luck she can arrive in time.

FEEL THE REIGN (10) returned from a break when doing his share of work early and fighting hard to hold the bronze behind DATSGOOD. He will need some factors to work in his favour from this gate but with the added fitness he can look to issue a challenge.

SAMMARI (6) hustled through to hold the inside from gate 1 last start and once in control was never in danger. Building towards that win, she can look to take another progression despite the tough gate.

ARK TEAMO (9) looked to take them all the way from gate 1 at AP over the mile 2 starts back but couldn’t see it out when gunned down by ADRIFT. With the right cart into this she looks an exotic hope.

SELECTIONS: TELLELLA (5), FEEL THE REIGN (10), SAMMARI (6), ARK TEAMO (9)
SUGGESTED BET: TELLELLA (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

DATTITUDE (3)
is a Mr Feelgood gelding on debut for trainer Donny Smith. A full brother to the handy DATSGOOD he looked good in a recent trial against older horses and from the gate he can look to make a winning debut.

BLACKJEWEL (1) came out of that same trial as DATTITUDE and is a Pet rock filly also on debut for Donny Smith. Out of the nine-win mare Sunopal she will have the benefit of the inside gate and trained on the track work in her favour.

MOLLYS SECRET (6) found the 1x1 in the run from this gate last start and worked home in good order when mid-field behind ALI DOWNUNDER. With the added experience she can feature.

SURFER JOE (4) set the tempo in front and after a sub 28 opener followed up with a pair of sub 30 panels, he started drifting out the back behind the smart ESCALERA. This looks more suitable.

SELECTIONS: DATTITUDE (3), BLACKJEWEL (1), MOLLYS SECRET (6), SURFER JOE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: DATTITUDE appeals on debut

RACE NINE

GHENT (9) has found his mojo with the Lisa Bahr stable and last start made it 3 wins in succession. Starting from 20m he pressed ahead to take control and packed too many guns to the line. That followed a big 20m victory from the mobile here over the 2040m trip and he will be fighting.

OLE SUN (7) shoots for the hat-trick and his 3rd win in 7 days. Finishing best in the closing stages from 50m here last week, he then packed too many punches for MISTER GUNSEN on Sat night to claim a band grade event. Look for him storming home.

NO TRANSACTIONS (5) flew the tapes here last week and was soon in front from the 40m strand. Gripping to the lead he was claimed late by OLE SUN. Forget his Marburg run where he didn’t step from 60, he can be better here.

SELECTIONS: GHENT (9), OLE SUN (7), NO TRANSACTIONS (5)
SUGGESTED BET:
