RACE TWO

Despite facing the 20m tape, MELPARK MAGIC (9) looks well-placed in this line-up to capitalise on some handy form of late where the rewards have not matched his efforts. Finding the pegs last start he chased home behind KYVALLEY TINMAN over the 2647 and back to the middle distance here looks to get his chance.

EL SWAVO (3) settled in the pocket trail over this trip 2 starts back when sound to the line and within 5m of the winner GARLAND GREENE despite carrying a flat tyre. Still searching for his 1st win of 2019, he can find a handy position from the 10m tape and with the right trip issue a challenge.

MONORAIL (10) was 1st up for the Lisa Bahr stable and broke a long winless streak at Redcliffe last start after securing a soft trip. He found the line well 2 starts back and from 20m can be thereabouts.

PRINCESS KATERINA (5) has been in the money at her past 3 starts including a Redcliffe win 2 back when finishing best from the 20m tape to score. Only 3m in arrears last start, she won’t be far way.

SELECTIONS: MELPARK MAGIC (9), EL SWAVO (3), MONORAIL (10), PRINCESS KATERINA (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MELPARK MAGIC (9) to win

RACE THREE

NORTHERN MUSCLE (7) returned from a freshen here last week in great style, overcoming the 30m back-mark with a withering burst down the stretch to out then away and cruise home to an 11m victory. A close 2nd off this tape 4 starts back, tightened from his return, he can look for the repeat.

MATATOKI (6) added another moor to his tally last start to make it a top-three at his past 9 in succession. Rolling forward the breeze from his 20m tape, he couldn’t hold off the finishing power of the swooping NORTHERN MUSCLE. Safe from the tapes, he can get forward early and will be in the mix once again.

SCORCHED (5) was sent to the pegs here 2 runs back and was sound to the line in a slick closing panel as MAYBETOTHEMAX powered home to victory. The run had merit last start and he will be swooping late here.

LANSBURY (3) was a winner over this trip 4 starts back when finding space and sprinting sharply to arrive for the prize. Not too far away in her 3 runs since that victory, she is an exotic hope again.

SELECTIONS: NORTHERN MUSCLE (7), MATATOKI (6), SCORCHED (5), LANSBURY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 3-5-6-7

RACE FOUR

Still searching for an elusive victory, TARGARYEN HANOVER (5) added another minor to his tally last start to make it 6 placings from his 12 starts. Looking to take them all the way from gate 2, he was able to set a steady tempo but was grabbed near the line. Will the bakers dozen be the lucky number?

OCEANSIDE (1) lines up for his debut with the Sunshine Beach gelding having trialled in good order for trainer Mark Dux. A half-brother to the handy NEWPORT DREAMZ, he lands the good gate for his debut, with his latest trial enough to suggest he won’t be too far away in this type of contest.

WHERES SEGGY (3) will take good experience from his debut when not too far away behind some experienced 2YO’s. Racing in the pocket trail the effort had merit and back to maiden company has claims.

SIR BULSKI (7) is afforded no favours from the tough gate here, yet his latest start was an encouraging effort when hitting the line strongly for the bronze when 5m in arrears. He can place.

SELECTIONS: TARGARYEN HANOVER (5), OCEANSIDE (1), WHERES SEGGY (3), SIR BULSKI (7)
SUGGESTED BET: TARGARYEN HANOVER (5) to win

RACE FIVE

BARRETT (1) finds a great race and can exploit the conditions here and receives the added bonus of the ace gate. Taking on much stronger oppositions recently, he was only 3.5m from the in-form SECRET JACK 3 starts back. Backing up from Friday where he was game in the breeze and beaten a neck, he looks mighty hard to stop.

THE MONEY BALL (8) had been running some handy races, closing out in good style from some tough gates. Last time out, he was making a run 500m from home over the 2138m trip and the effort told. Back to a cheap run over the mile here, look for a bounce back and him charging in the stretch.

MISS BLUE GLORY (9) started fav last time over the 2138m and sent to the breeze in the early stages, couldn’t see it out. A nice winner over the mile here 3 back, she can opt for cheap runs and be probing late.

HAVANA MOON (3) is in some nice touch at present with a top-three at 4 of her past 5. Hitting the line strongly from the rear after starting from the 2nd line last start, she can settle closer and is right in the mix.

SELECTIONS: BARRETT (1), THE MONEY BALL (8), MISS BLUE GLORY (9), HAVANA MOON (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1 / 3-4-8-9

RACE SIX

He may have to overcome gate 12 but TOMMY UNDER FIRE (12) has struck some hot form and finds a race where there looks to be plenty of front-line speed and tempo in the run. Snagged back from gate 7 last start, he charged home in the closing stages for a stylish win. He shoots for the hat-trick and if the speed eventuates, look for him descending on them in the stretch.

ROYAL LINCOLN (11) rolled to the breeze last start and held on for the silver behind CARDLESFROMHEAVEN through a tidy closing 800m section. Devoid of luck the start prior when still managing to be within 6m of the winner TENNYSON BROMAC, he can be right in the fight once again.

GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT (5) was a brave 2nd here last start when sent to the front from gate 4 and setting a brutal tempo over the 2138m, was still punching when 5m from the talented SPEECH IS SILVER. He is narrowing in on his 1st Qld victory.

GETARATTLEON (2) has scored successive wins here at AP and from the gate will be after the threepeat. Not possessing the best gate speed, he can settle handy and be looking for space.

SELECTIONS: TOMMY UNDER FIRE (12), ROYAL LINCOLN (11), GETARATTLEON (2), GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: TOMMY UNDER FIRE (12) to win

RACE SEVEN

He will be hoping for some luck in transit or to get away from the pegs early and if able to do that SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (8) should be able to account for his opponents in this. A passing lane winner over this trip in a qualifier 4 starts back, he then went to the 4YO Championship when shuffled right out of it. He charged home 2 starts back and will give this a big shake.

BELLS BEACH HOUSE (2) has been out of the winners enclosure for some time, but finds conditions to suit here from the gate. His last start had merit when finding the line in good order after retreating from gate 7 which followed a similar type run from gate 5. He can hustle to the pegs and will be gripping on.

LIVING AGAIN (4) snagged back from gate 6 last start over the mile and was too far back to issue a challenge with the leader ITS JUST KENNY pinching a break on the home turn. Settling closer he is right in the fight.

SIR JULIAN (6) made an encouraging return to the track last start when returning from a let-up after falling in the stretch 2 starts back. With the added fitness and confidence after hitting the line strongly for the silver, he can chime into the finish once again here.

SELECTIONS: SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (8), BELLS BEACH HOUSE (2), LIVING AGAIN (4), SIR JULIAN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (8) to win
