RACE TWO

GOONLY (5) will be 2nd up since joining the Jack Butler barn and will take some benefit from his 1st outing when down the line behind SECRETAGENT TYCOON. Settling back in the field from gate 11 he was wide and chasing. Not far from SPARE ME DAYS at Menangle the start prior, the return to the mile suits here.

COREY WILLIAM (10) has worked into form and lines up here for the hat-trick after wins over the AP 2138m and the Redcliffe sprint trip in slick time from a 2nd line gate. He faces a tough gate but his Redcliffe win from the 2nd line was full of merit and with the right run in transit can challenge again.

BIG BANG LEONARD (7) was only 3m from the winner last start from inside the 2nd line and could have been much closer with better luck. In superb touch since arriving, he can defy the gate.

WEEDONS EXPRESS (2) secured the right run in transit last start and powered home to arrive over the 2138m. Better suited at the mile, he has been running some strong sections and can podium.

SELECTIONS: GOONLY (5), COREY WILLIAM (10), BIG BANG LEONARD (7), WEEDONS EXPRESS (2)
SUGGESTED BET: GOONLY (5) to win

RACE THREE

MAJOR CURRENCY (1) started fav on Tues from this same gate over this trip and showed no early speed to soon be buried 3 back on the pegs. Probing for gaps he was only 2m from the winner. Showing more hustle, he can settle one position closer this time and take the final shot.

RANDOM TASK (4) started from gate 1 here 2 starts back and was beaten for early speed that saw him looking in all sorts of trouble when positioned 3 back on the poles. Finding space at the right time he powered over the top to score. Not ideally suited at 2138m last start, he can press forward to challenge here.

JUMPING JOLT (8) has finished 3rd at his past 3 in succession, the latest when making good closing metres behind SECRETAGENT TYCOON. With another soft trip on offer, he will be searching for space.

THE BUS (9) was only 7m from the winner last start from this same gate over the 2138m trip. With early options to look for the fence or stay in the running line, he can be chiming into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR CURRENCY (1), RANDOM TASK (4), JUMPING JOLT (8), THE BUS (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR CURRENCY (1) to win

RACE FOUR

GOTTA MOMENT (9)
took on a stronger race mid-week here over the 2318m and after settling 3 back against the poles from gate 1, showed too much closing power in a strongly run contest to arrive for the prize. Hitting the line strongly at Tamworth the start prior, he can charge home again.

CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (2) has faced the starter 3 times since returning from a break and not much has really gone his way in each, landing a 2nd line gate on each occasion. He was strong to the line last start against the tempo and the start prior just worked too hard. The gate is a huge plus here.

IM MAJOR HARRY (1) took the pocket trail last start over the sprint trip and making a late charge went within a half-head of victory. With the early options on offer, he is in the mix.

MAJORDOIT (10) progressed to the Golden Guitar final at Tamworth courtesy of a 2nd form inside the 2nd line in his heat. Only 8m away in the final from gate 10, he can be chiming in late here.

SELECTIONS: GOTTA MOMENT (9), CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (2), IM MAJOR HARRY (1), MAJORDOIT (10)
SUGGESTED BET: GOTTA MOMENT (9) to win

RACE FIVE

The last leg of the UTAB quaddie looks a wide-open event and playing wide looks the way to attack. Sharp out of the gate when asked, WITH AUTHORITY (6) might just have enough early dash to find the pegs and if that were to eventuate, this would become a winnable contest. Taken back last start over the 2138m ended his chances, he is worth a ticket here.

COMIGAL (3) settled in the 1x1 last start over the sprint trip when strong to the line behind the smart SOLE AMBITION. Taking on mares company the start prior she was eased back early and then from back in the pack was facing a task. From this gate she can settle close enough to challenge.

TAKITIMU EXPRESS (4) was a qualifying winner 2 starts back after being injected into the race at the right time to power over the top. Charging home last start, he will again be swooping in the stretch.

SWEET AS (5) is going well without much really going her way. Last start she was hitting the line in nice style when only 4m from the winner and was beaten by gate 7 the start prior. This is within reach with even luck in transit.

SELECTIONS: WITH AUTHORITY (6), COMIGAL (3), TAKITIMU EXPRESS (4), SWEET AS (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

ZAHVEN BANNER (1) steps up against the big-boys here for the 1st time which is always a tough ask, however he lands his ideal conditions. A power running type that likes to dictate he owns a sub 1.51.0 rate over the mile here at The Creek and with smart wins at his past 2, will give them plenty to gun down.

COLT THIRTY ONE (4) resumes from a let-up after his superb victory in the Qld Cup last start when backing up within a week of the Inter Dominion Consolation. Not much went his way at Auckland, but the return to familiar surrounds worked wonders. From the gate he will need to run a big mile to take this.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (3) returns from a spell after his 1st campaign in Qld where he secured 5 victories here at AP. Yet to win at the mile, he has tuned up for his return with a pair of trials, the 2nd of those a slippery effort. He can be sharp 1st up.

WATCH PULP FICTION (8) started fav last start over the 2138m when 2m from ROCK WITH SAM. That was his 1st run since the Qld Cup and with the easy ride here will be making a closing play.

SELECTIONS: ZAHVEN BANNER (1), COLT THIRTY ONE (4), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (3), WATCH PULP FICTION (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-4-8

RACE SEVEN

MY SECRET BEACH (2) will take further benefit from his latest appearance in Qld when 2nd up from a break. Returning with a sound effort when mid-field over the mile from the 2nd line, he found the going too tough in the breeze over this trip as the ruling fav last time. With the speed to take control, he can be sharper here.

TAYLOR HOOD (9) rolled forward from gate 6 over the mile and rolling the sleeves was in for the fight when only 5m from the dictating winner BANGKOK BRAVADO. Strong to the line from a 2nd line gate at Redcliffe the start prior, he can trail through to settle handy and issue a challenge.

STORMONT STAR (7) held the front over the 2040m last start at Redcliffe and setting an even tempo was gunned down in the closing stages. The gate hurts but with even luck he can podium in this.

RANFURLY RULZ (5) was wide off the track when working home from the 2nd line last start at Marburg to grab the bronze. The return to the front line is a plus and this trip suits.

SELECTIONS: MY SECRET BEACH (2), TAYLOR HOOD (9), STORMONT STAR (7), RANFURLY RULZ (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MY SECRET BEACH (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

Early mapping will be vital in this contest with the options afforded to CROWNING GLORY (1) likely to be enough to see him home. Sent to the pegs from gate 11 last start looking for luck, he was attacking the line with vigour when 5m from the winner. With superb speed out of the machine, he gets his chance to breakthrough.

ARTISITIC SAINT (2) tried to capitalise on gate 1 at Marburg last start and despite not looking entirely comfortable was able to keep them wide. Fading under the early burn, his win at Redcliffe 2 starts back was a tidy effort when forced to race tough. He has place claims.

CONDAFEW (3) is going well but the luck just isn’t falling his way. Forced to retreat from a wide gate on Wed night at Redcliffe, he was probing for space here the start prior. With even luck in transit he can feature in this line-up.

TRUNKEY DIGGER (8) will likely need a slice of luck from this gate, but if sighting space with track to play with, she can be charging home. Her run from gate 7 last start in a mares qualifier behind ALE ALE KAI had merit and she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: CROWNING GLORY (1), ARTISITIC SAINT (2), CONDAFEW (3), TRUNKEY DIGGER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: CONDAFEW (3) each-way

RACE NINE

QUIETLY SPOKEN (7) showed good speed off the arm last start at the mobile mile and once in control had them chasing in scoring a comfortable 5m victory. Hitting the line hard over the 2138m from a 20m impost the start prior, the extra 509m to cover from the same tape can see her arrive.

CLOVER MAC (5) appreciated the return to mobile conditions last start when sent forward from gate 5. Rolling the sleeves for the hard stuff in the breeze, he chased gamely for the silver behind QUIETLY SPOKEN. The stand is a concern, but if he brings his manners, he can challenge from the 10.

MAYBETOTHEMAX (8) started from this same tape last start over the 2138m and saved for a closing shot was working home late to be mid-field behind ALS LAW. With a liking for the longer trip, he is in the mix.

MATATOKI (1) turned around a run of outs last start when proving too strong in the breeze over the mobile 2138m. He made a mess of things early the start prior and from this position can build of his last start victory.

SELECTIONS: QUIETLY SPOKEN (7), CLOVER MAC (5), MAYBETOTHEMAX (8), MATATOKI (1)
SUGGESTED BET: QUIETLY SPOKEN (7) to win

RACE TEN

PAY ME INTEREST (1)
eased back from gate 6 over the 2138m last start and was a long way back when trying to make ground. From gate 12 the start prior she was attacking the line in nice order over the sprint trip when mid-field to ARTFUL MAID. Back to mares company, this is the last chance saloon.

TACT BESS (7) makes her Qld debut for the Jack Butler barn and arrives a nine-time winner. Last seen back in December at Menangle when down the line behind TACT MAGGIE, she comes into this without a public trial and faces a task 1st up from the wide gate. She stays under notice.

CHINOOK WINDS (2) wasn’t suited from the 2nd line last start and was too far back to offer a challenge. Using the passing lane to grab the silver the start prior behind URBAN GIRL, she is in the mix from this alley.

SAINT KILDA BEACH (6) pressed ahead from this gate over the mile last start and contest to cut the breeze went within an eyelash of victory behind CAPTAIN COSMONAUT. Back to mares only is a plus.

SELECTIONS: PAY ME INTEREST (1), TACT BESS (7), CHINOOK WINDS (2), SAINT KILDA BEACH (6)
SUGGESTED BET: PAY ME INTEREST (1) to win
