RACE TWO

BUMPER (8) started from gate 12 over the sprint trip here 2 starts back and was hitting the line in nice order to be 6m in arrears of the winner COLONEL JOY, who franked that with a subsequent win. Snagged back from gate 6 at Redcliffe last start, he was attacking the line wide out in claiming a 5m victory. With the soft trip on offer, he just needs the lane with momentum.

GOTTA MOMENT (11) struck trouble in the early stages last start that saw his chances evaporate. Using the passing lane the start prior to grab the silver behind CARDLESFROMHEAVEN, his run 3 back when 2nd to MACEY JAYDE was solid. He is knocking on the door to win one of these qualifying races.

WHERES THE SPIRIT (1) has a nice record at the 2138m and comes up with the peg-line benefits here. Beaten by 2nd line gates his past 2 starts, he took them all the way over this trip 3 back.

LIFES A JUNGLE (9) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, the latest when going within a head of the in-form COLONEL JOY. With the option of dropping to the poles, he can be probing for the gaps.

SELECTIONS: BUMPER (8), GOTTA MOMENT (11), WHERES THE SPIRIT (1), LIFES A JUNGLE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: BUMPER (8) to win

RACE THREE

CELTIC CRUZA (11) has no favours from this gate but he might have found the right type of opposition to overcome the impediment. Sent to the pegs for the short-cuts last start at the mile, the effort had merit against his normal pattern. That followed a similar effort from gate 7 when snagged back. If he can get into the contest cheaply, he might be able to sneak away with this.

NIFTY STUDLEIGH (1) settled in the pocket trail last start when unable to repel the early speed challengers over the mile. Starting fav, he was able to hold on for the bronze when 2m in arrears of the winner. Landing the trump at the marble drop, he looks to get his chance.

IFOUNDTHEBEACH (8) settled in the trail from gate 1 on Tues at the mile when using the passing lane to be 4m from the winner. Another easy trip looks on offer and he can chime in again here.

MAJORDOIT (9) backs-up from Thursday where he looked placed to feature prominently. Strong to the line behind CARDLESFROMHEAVEN 2 starts back, he can take the short-cuts here to chime in.

SELECTIONS: CELTIC CRUZA (11), NIFTY STUDLEIGH (1), IFOUNDTHEBEACH (8), MAJORDOIT (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

MAYWYNS BEST (6)
was back to his best on Tuesday when spearing out from gate 4 to take control. Keeping the power on, there was 2.5m to spare on the line in claiming a tidy victory. His run the start prior was a solid effort from gate 7 when wide and only beaten 3m. This is easier than Tuesday and he can repeat the dose.

CHARMING MAJOR (3) settled in the pocket trail last start from gate 1 when 7m from the winner JUMPING JOLT in finishing mid-field. Beaten by some wider gates in previous starts, if he can settle handy from the gate, he should appreciate this line-up and can be chiming in late.

MATRON JUJON (2) claimed a mares qualifier last start after sailing home from back in the pack and arriving in time. That followed a similar effort when charging late and settling closer here, can be swooping late again.

HEZ RAZOR SHARP (9) is better suited when able to roll in front, but from this gate he can get the right early trial and limit any early work. Not too far away last start, he can chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYNS BEST (6), CHARMING MAJOR (3), MATRON JUJON (2), HEZ RAZOR SHARP (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYNS BEST (6) to win

RACE FIVE

This race shapes as a cracking contest with those in the best touch facing some tough gates, mixed with a couple returning from a spell and some needing luck to feature. Needing a slice of luck will be OUR MAJOR DAY (8) who follows the speedy SPIKE BROMAC who looks the likely leader and if he can see the passing lane with momentum, can make the closing shot a winning one. His past 2 runs behind CASINO TOMMY have been full of merit which followed a passing lane win. Just needs space.

CASINO TOMMY (7) is in the zone and shoots for the hat-trick after a pair of impressive victories. Pressured in the run last start over the 2138m, he kept the power on and had 3m to spare on the line in a super 1.53.5 for the trip. The gate hurts but he is going to well to dismiss his chances.

SECRETAGENT TYCOON (6) tried to eye-ball CASINO TOMMY last start but was left gasping for air under the tough run, fading out. That followed a tough win when wide off the track in getting forward to take control and score over the 2138m. Look for the bounce back.

TULHURST ACE (2) has been thereabouts without really threatening in recent starts, the latest when finding the line in nice order from gate 9 behind CHANGE OF MIND. Staying out of any power struggles here, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: OUR MAJOR DAY (8), CASINO TOMMY (7), SECRETAGENT TYCOON (6), TULHURST ACE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR MAJOR DAY (8) to win

RACE SIX

THATS HOW WEROLL (8) has found some mojo and finds suitable conditions once again here. He sailed home from back in the pack to score in a new career PB 2 starts back which followed a qualifying victory. With a sharp sprint when saved for a closing shot, he can be coiled and ready to strike.

RUN BOY RUN (1) was strong in the breeze 3 starts back when holding on for the bronze behind OUR MAJOR DAY. It didn’t go to plan at his next outing behind SECRETAGENT TYCOON and then last start was beaten by gate 7. With the good gate, he will get his chance to dictate and will be gripping on.

BIG BANG LEONARD (4) bounced back to winning form here on Tues when sailing home to claim a smart 3m victory. Too far back here last week, finding position cheaply will be key to his closing chances.

THATSWHATISAID (9) took them all the way to win his qualifier 4 starts back and followed that with a close 2nd. Sent for a break, he has returned as the runner-up on successive occasions and despite a tricky gate, look for him chiming in here.

SELECTIONS: THATS HOW WEROLL (8), RUN BOY RUN (1), BIG BANG LEONARD (4), THATSWHATISAID (9)
SUGGESTED BET: THATS HOW WEROLL (8) to win

RACE SEVEN

JEDDY R YA READY (5) has been a model of consistency on the mid-week circuit and after 4 successive placings was able to capitalise with a victory last start. Finding the 1x1 from the 10m tape, he had too much arsenal in the locker to claim a 2m victory. This is a rise, but he will appreciate the front tape and might just sneak away with this.

ALS LAW (9) speared out from gate 5 at mobile conditions last start before releasing and taking the pocket trail. Waiting for the passing lane, he sprinted sharply to arrive for the prize. Only 6m away under similar conditions 3 starts back, he has the 10m this time but can be charging late.

QUIETLY SPOKEN (10) started from the 30m tape last start when sent to the post as fav and finished 10m in arrears. Back to the 20m tape here suits and with the right cart home, she can challenge.

NORTHERN MUSCLE (12) took on mobile conditions last start from gate 6 and was stranded wide looking for position when forced to restrain. Safe from the tapes, he can overcome the impost to feature.

SELECTIONS: JEDDY R YA READY (5), ALS LAW (9), QUIETLY SPOKEN (10), NORTHERN MUSCLE (12)
SUGGESTED BET: JEDDY R YA READY (5) each-way

RACE EIGHT

GOALKICKER (3) started from the 2nd line over the mile last start when attacking the line strongly on the closing stages. Getting within a head of the winner, there was plenty to like in how she found the line 1st up for the new stable. With early speed she can press forward and limiting the mid-race pressure can cash-in.

KAY NORA SHANNON (1) has been in the money at her past 4 in succession and heads to town looking to build on the consistency. Eased back in the early stages from gate 5 last start at Redcliffe, she worked home well in a slogging finish and with the easy trip here can chime into it late.

CHINOOK WINDS (2) backs-up from Wed night at Redcliffe where not much went her way when locked away on the pegs and searching for runs. Runner-up her previous 2, she is in the mix here.

SLIPPERY JADE (4) rolled the sleeves to race tough last week and was fighting hard when only 6m away. Only beaten a neck behind ALE ALE KAI the start prior, she might need to work again.

SELECTIONS: GOALKICKER (3), KAY NORA SHANNON (1), CHINOOK WINDS (2), SLIPPERY JADE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: GOALKICKER (3) to win
