RACE TWO

ZARAS HEAVEN (4) has been runner-up at her past 2 starts, the latest when leading them up and only grabbed in the closing stages by PURE CHARISMA, beaten a half-neck. Forced to do it the tough way the start prior, finding position will be key here, but she can look to go one better this time.

BARBOO (3) had the speed to take up the running last start over the middle distance 2040m and led them into the stretch before being nabbed by CALL ME TRISH. Finishing 3rd at Marburg from inside the 2nd line 2 starts back, he can look to get across them early here and back to the sprint trip suits.

HUGHIES SISTER (1) doesn’t have the greatest numbers next to her name, but she drops back to Redcliffe grade here and lands the perfect gate. Buried in the run last start, she was only 9m from JAMIES BAD BOY 2 starts back. This is a winnable contest for her.

READILY (10) was hitting the line in good order last start from the 2nd line when 5m from the winner in grabbing the bronze. Only 2m away the start prior, look for him making a closing dive here.

SELECTIONS: ZARAS HEAVEN (4), BARBOO (3), HUGHIES SISTER (1), READILY (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

This looks a tricky contest on paper with the early speed battle the likely key to unlocking the result. Leaning to WILLS (1) who was much sharper last start on the return to Redcliffe. Buried 3 back he found the line nicely when 4m from the winner. Taking on stronger races at AP his 3 starts prior, he gets his chance to end a long winless streak.

SHERIFF JUJON (2) has been thereabouts in recent starts, but his speed off the arm will be questioned at release point here. Starting fav from inside the 2nd line last start, he never had a decent crack at them and 2 starts back was a tough 2nd over the sprint trip. He is the obvious threat.

TORQUE WITH ESTEEM (5) was hitting the line nicely last start when 3m from the winner BEACH GODDESS. Only a head away here 2 starts back, if she can find position cheaply, she is in the mix.

VANTO HANOVER (7) rolled to the front here last start and once in control was able to stave off the challengers to score. A soft trip looks on offer and she will be probing for the gaps.

SELECTIONS: WILLS (1), SHERIFF JUJON (2), TORQUE WITH ESTEEM (5), VANTO HANOVER (7)
SUGGESTED BET: WILLS (1) to win

RACE FOUR

IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (8)
will take good benefit from her run last start when 2nd up from a break. Sent to the breeze in the early stages from the 2nd line, she packed too many guns in claiming victory by a head. With the right early trail at the start, she can look to go back-to-back.

GOES BOOM (9) was working wide off the track last start in a 2nd division qualifier when trying to make ground against the tempo. Forced to work in the breeze the start prior when 2nd up since arriving in Qld, he drops back to Redcliffe company and with even luck can challenge in this.

GIGANTIC JASPER (1) has the peg-lie benefits and has the early speed to dictate his position. His effort from gate 6 last start had merit when mid-field and he has podium claims in this.

WILLSINTOWN (2) was locked away on the pegs last start and was sound to the line when mid-field behind CALL ME TRISH. Hitting the line nicely the start prior, settling close enough he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (8), GOES BOOM (9), GIGANTIC JASPER (1), WILLSINTOWN (2)
SUGGESTED BET: IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (8) to win

RACE FIVE

CHROMOZONE (6) was 1st up after a stable switch to Ricky Gordon last start when taken to Tamworth. Sent to the post as fav from the 2nd line, she held on for the bronze when 4m from the winner over the 1980m. The gate is a stinger here, but she finds an open contest and is worth a ticket.

PERFECT FEELING (1) had a look from gate 5 last start but with no forward spot available was forced to retreat. Striking trouble thereafter, his night ended when striking a scrimmage. Taking them all the way at Marburg 2 starts back, he can capitalise on the gate here and give them a target to chase.

WECANONLYHOPE (3) was able to find the 1x1 trail last start when making a late play to grab the silver when 6m in arrears of the winner. Finding cheap position is key here and she has claims.

PATCHWORK JET (8) has been in the money at 4 of his past 5 outings including a win here 2 starts back when able to lead throughout. With the right early trail, he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: CHROMOZONE (6), PERFECT FEELING (1), WECANONLYHOPE (3), PATCHWORK JET (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

A tough maiden to assess here with chances across the board. Leaning to SIR BULSKI (5) who has the tough gate but hasn’t been too bad in 2 runs back this campaign that were in quick succession. Locked away from inside the 2nd line last start he was only 8m away and with even luck this is within reach.

ITMIGHTBEYOU (3) has had 33 attempts at opening her account in what has proven an elusive breakthrough. Looking to take them all the way last start from gate 1, she was able to walk them early but couldn’t stave off the challengers when holding on for 3rd. With good early speed, she can be gripping on.

HURRIKANE SPECIAL (6) went to the pegs from gate 10 last start and was keen in the run when locked away. Always facing a task against the tempo, she can be sharper in this.

WEDDING NIGHT (2) will be further tightened following 2 runs back form a break. Only 4m away in holding 3rd when resuming, forget her last start when striking trouble in the run. A forward showing can be expected.

SELECTIONS: SIR BULSKI (5), ITMIGHTBEYOU (3), HURRIKANE SPECIAL (6), WEDDING NIGHT (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SIR BULSKI (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

REAP THE REWARDS (3) has faced the starter on 3 occasions now and is bursting out to open his win account. Leading to all bar the last few strides over the 2040m here 2 starts back, he was game in the breeze here last start when finishing 5m from the winner. From the gate he can dictate to success.

SWEET JASMINE (1) resumes from a spell to kick-off her 3YO season following a 2YO term where she went to the track on just the one occasion and didn’t have things go her way. Opening the pipes with a tidy trial to prepare, she looks to have progressed well since last season and the gate is a big plus.

MA KOO LOO MASUNGU (7) makes his Qld debut for Lola Weidemann, arriving from the NSW Riverina with 4 unplaced starts. His last start suggests with an easy trip he can podium 1st up here.

PROMISES MADE (8) is a Bettors Delight 3YO filly on debut for Grant Dixon and is a full sister to the former top mare Bettor Promise. With a sound trial in preparation, she stays under watch here.

SELECTIONS: REAP THE REWARDS (3), SWEET JASMINE (1), MA KOO LOO MASUNGU (7), PROMISES MADE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: REAP THE REWARDS (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

JUST JOSHIN (8) is not far off a breakthrough after placings in his past 3 in succession and 4 of 6 since returning from a spell. He was strong at AP last start when pressing on wide off the track to find the breeze and fight hard in going under a head. He looms as a huge threat in this line-up.

CALL ME TRISH (7) started from gate 9 here last start over the 2040m trip and when produced 3-wide was able to finish strongly in cruising home to a 4m victory. Locked away from this gate 2 starts back when luckless and 7m in arrears, she just needs to see open space in time to arrive here.

SCHOOBY (4) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, both times when gunned down after leading them up. Grabbed late last start, he might need to do some work here and place claims appeal.

TOTAL DELIRIUM (1) wasn’t suited last start from gate 10 when trying to chase. Securing the improved gate, he has the early options and with the right run can fill the exotics.

SELECTIONS: JUST JOSHIN (8), CALL ME TRISH (7), SCHOOBY (4), TOTAL DELIRIUM (1)
SUGGESTED BET: JUST JOSHIN (8) to win
