QBRED Cash incentive scheme begins this week

The QBRED Cash incentives recently announced by Racing Queensland to further support the breeding and racing of QBRED eligible horses starts this Thursday 1 February. 

The QBRED cash initiative will offer:

• $1,000 bonuses to the winners of selected races if they are QBRED eligible.
• The selected races will initially include classes from C0 and T0 and above and in time may incorporate restricted class events.
• A minimum 9 races per week will offer the bonus.
• Horses eligible for the Bonus must be paid up as a QBRED foal and at least one QBRED age sustaining payment must have been made.
• The $1,000 bonuses will be in addition to the lucrative opportunities already available to QBRED’s including the 2YO ($7.5k), 3YO ($7.5k) and 4YO ($2.5k) bonuses and the Triad race series for QBRED’s which include $100k finals for 2YO’s.
• The QBRED Cash initiative will be initially implemented from 1 February – 30 June, with a review in May to determine its effectiveness and number of races the bonus is to be applied to thereafter.

Each selected QBRED Cash bonus race will be indicated in the race programs as a “QBRED Cash Bonus race”.

Each QBRED Cash Bonus race is not just for QBRED horses but open to all horses eligible for that race however should an eligible QBRED win the race a $1,000 QBRED Cash bonus will be paid.

The QBRED Cash bonus will be paid in the proportion of 90% to the current owner(s) and 10% to the breeder(s).

To kick off QBRED Cash in February Racing Queensland will offer the increased opportunities to earn a bonus in the first two weeks with many QBRED Cash races programmed (refer below for programmed races).

These bonuses will be in addition to the lucrative opportunities already available to QBRED registered horses, including the 2yo ($7.5k), 3yo ($7.5k) and 4yo ($2.5k) first win bonuses and the Triad race series for QBRED’s which include $100k finals for 2yo.

There has never been more incentive to race and / or breed a QBRED.
