RACE TWO

OUR MAJOR DAY (5) has been in the money at 4 of 6 starts since his last victory with his last 2 runs indicating a win is just around the corner. From the pocket trail last start he chased gamely in a strong closing 800m to grab the silver behind MARETTI. The gate is a little sticky but he looks up to it.

TED WEST (1) found his race here last week when he was able to take them all the way from this same gate and trip. After a slick opener, he was allowed to cruise through the 2nd split which left enough in the tank to score a comfortable victory. He can look to repeat.

PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (8) is a winner at 2 of his past 4 starts when able to lead throughout in each. Last start he held on over the 2138m in a small field and with the last shot here can challenge.

MACHEASY (2) was a winner from the pocket trail here 3 starts back and at his past 2 has run into MARETTI. From the gate he can settle handy and wont be far away.

SELECTIONS: OUR MAJOR DAY (5), TED WEST (1), PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (8), MACHEASY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR MAJOR DAY (5) to win

RACE THREE

FAME ASSURED (6) claimed a hat-trick of victories to start her 4YO season when proving too strong in the heats of this series. Sent forward from gate 7 she worked hard in the breeze and had enough to land a narrow victory. That followed a slick win up the passing lane. She can overcome the gate.

TOM ME GUN (3) will be better suited for the final after a nice finish in the heat when snagged back early from gate 6. Hitting the line strongly he was 4m from the winner TENNYSON BROMAC. That followed a strong win from the 2nd line over the 2138m and with slick early moves will be gripping on.

TENNYSON BROMAC (12) will take good benefit from the heat which was his 1st Aus appearance. Sent forward from the 2nd line he was too strong late when arriving for the prize. He will need to be good to win from this gate.

PARAVANI (8) was impressive in leading throughout at his 1st 2 Aus starts, the 2nd of those a comfortable Gold Pot victory. He will get a soft run here and with luck to find gaps can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: FAME ASSURED (6), TOM ME GUN (3), TENNYSON BROMAC (12), PARAVANI (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

BACK PAGE NEWS (1)
can look to take full advantage of his best gate in a long time and has the speed to look to dictate. His efforts of late have been good but he has had no luck with barriers, the latest when trying to work home against the tempo off gate 6. This looks his chance to capitalise.

BROADWATER (8) isn’t best suited when locked away but he will get a soft run in transit here and if able to push into space with track to play with, can ask some questions. A winner from the front over the 2138m here 4 starts back, his next 3 starts have been at Redcliffe.

MR MEDDLE (10) cant land a marble of late and will start from the 2nd line at his 5th successive outing. His run 3 starts back was luckless when he looked to have plenty to offer but couldn’t find space. Look for him swooping late.

ALPHA STYX (9) had a shot for the front last start and was forced to breeze which took its toll. 3 starts back he hit the line strongly from well back and with some early options can be charging home.

SELECTIONS: BACK PAGE NEWS (1), BROADWATER (8), MR MEDDLE (10), ALPHA STYX (9)
SUGGESTED BET: BACK PAGE NEWS (1) to win

RACE FIVE

MARETTI (7) has no favours from the outside front line, but he has sizzled at his past 2 starts when dominating with displays of power running. Over this trip last start from gate 1 he was strong all the way which followed a slick mile victory. He can keep the pressure on here and look for the three-peat.

SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (6) was after the hat-trick last start when finding the front from gate 5 over the 2138m he was trying to fight them off when grabbed on the line and beaten a half-neck in a blanket finish. He can look to force his way forward and from the front looms as a threat.

SPIKE BOMAC (1) went to the front from gate 6 over the mile here 2 starts back and once in control was never in danger. Last time he drew gate 1 over the 2138m he wasn’t interested in the lead which could see him buried away here.

CLINTAL DO (8) has no favours from this gate might be looking to get away from the pegs early. Taking n a mid-week open here on Tues, he finished hard from the back to arrive for a stylish win. Needs luck.

SELECTIONS: MARETTI (7), SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (6), SPIKE BOMAC (1), CLINTAL DO (8)
SUGGESTED BETExotics 1-6-7-8

RACE SIX

MACH ALERT (7)
shoots for the hat-trick after wins at the middle distance and sprint trips. Sent straight to the front from gate 4 last start he was able to get through a comfortable opening half and then dialled it up in sub 55 closing half to have them chasing. Set alight early he can find the pegs and look to hold on.

FRANKIE ROCKS (10) was taken back early last start from gate 7 and was charging home late to run some impressive sectionals when 6m from MACH ALERT. Claiming the bronze at his previous 2 starts, his runs have been full of merit of late and a win is just around the corner. Look for him swooping.

GLENFERRIE HOOD (8) will need a slice of luck from this gate and might even snag back early to get away from the pegs. Strong from the breeze when sent forward from the 2nd line last start he can chime into the money.

INVINCIBLE LOXTON (5) returns from a break and faces a task 1st up but has been sharpened at the trials in preparation. A stylish winner from the 2nd line last start back in September, he will improve off his efforts here.

SELECTIONS: MACH ALERT (7), FRANKIE ROCKS (10), GLENFERRIE HOOD (8), INVINCIBLE LOXTON (5)
SUGGESTED BETMACH ALERT (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

COLT THIRTY ONE (11) was beaten by the tempo last week after sliding back early from gate 6 he was too far back with MACH ALERT dealing in front. That was his 1st run since being freshened after a tough Qld Cup victory and his closing panels were outstanding. He can bounce back.

WATCH PULP FICTION (9) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, the latest when racing against his preferred pattern. Doing it the hard way in the breeze he threw down a strong challenge in a 26.5 closing 400m and went within a neck of victory. With a strong tempo he can swoop home late.

SLICE OF HEAVEN (6) was after the hat-trick last start when he slid forward from the 2nd line to the breeze and was still fighting when beaten 5m behind FRANCO TARIQ. He can get forward early.

COLD IDEAL (5) finished best off a strong tempo last start after starting off the 2nd line to claim a tidy win. This is a step up again but with even luck he can be in the mix for a minor.

SELECTIONS: COLT THIRTY ONE (11), WATCH PULP FICTION (9), SLICE OF HEAVEN (6), COLD IDEAL (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

JOSSIE JAMES (11)
has a racing pattern that requires factors to work in her favour and she should get them this week. Last start LIS LINCOLN was able to dictate in front meaning she chased home valiantly from the wide gate. No closer than gate 6 her past 10 starts a strong early tempo will suit.

BIG IN AMERICA (2) was game in defeat here 2 starts back when cutting the breeze and only finishing 4m away in a sub 1.54 mile. On Tues she came out swinging from gate 5 and eventually bullied her way to the lead in a 26 sec sizzler which took its toll late. With an easier early trip she can take this.

MIGHT AND MAIN (9) found the line in good order 2 starts back when under 4m from LISA LINCOLN which followed a tidy closing finish from gate 11 here 3 starts back. Off the Redcliffe Wed night back-up she can challenge.

WERELIVINGTHEDREAM (5) started from gate 3 here 2 starts back and after showing some early speed found running line cover and held 3rd. Back to mares only is a plus and she can feature.

SELECTIONS: JOSSIE JAMES (11), BIG IN AMERICA (2), MIGHT AND MAIN (9), WERELIVINGTHEDREAM (5)
SUGGESTED BET: JOSSIE JAMES (11) to win

RACE NINE

OYSTER STRIDE (1)
took on a qualifier here 2 starts back over the mile and from the pocket trail went within a half-neck of the winner PATERNITY SUIT who has since won again. Not suited last start when working over the 2138m trip, he looks to get every chance in this line-up from the gate.

ARBIT MAJOR (4) started from inside the 2nd line last tarts and after being buried away 3 back was further hampered when the leader caved-in at the 700m and shuffled the field. Under the circumstances he rallied strongly to get as close as he did. Not far away 2 starts back, he can feature.

OCEANS PREDATOR (2) has been freshened since he was last seen when striking trouble and finishing down the line. Only 4m from EVERYTHING here 3 starts back he can be around the mark.

JACKS AT THE BEACH (6) was wide for the 1st lap here 2 starts back over the 2138m and then here on Tuesday was mauled in front before releasing and was then inconvenienced. He can bounce back.

SELECTIONS: OYSTER STRIDE (1), ARBIT MAJOR (4), OCEANS PREDATOR (2), JACKS AT THE BEACH (6)
SUGGESTED BET: OYSTER STRIDE (1) to win

RACE TEN

ZARAS DELIGHT (6)
hasn’t been far away in recent starts and despite the gate can cash-in. Angled away from the pegs from an inside 2nd line gate last start she was tracking home strongly. That followed consecutive 2nd placed runs behind ARGYLE BEACH and DARKERSHADEOFPALE. This suits.

THE MUSE (1) was trying to make ground last start when the leader was setting a slick tempo and the start prior was forced to do it tough in the breeze. With an improved alley here, she can get the cosy trip and if hitting the lane with momentum can look to throw down a challenge.

ANNIKA MAGIC (8) faced a torrid trip last start from gate 6 and did well to punch on as well as she did. Needing a slice of luck from this alley, if working into space in time she can feature in this.

DARBY BRIGHTS (9) found the line in good order 2 starts back after being buried away and the start prior wasn’t suited from gate 11. A good winner here 3 starts back, she is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: ZARAS DELIGHT (6), THE MUSE (1), ANNIKA MAGIC (8), DARBY BRIGHTS (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ZARAS DELIGHT (6) to win

RACE ELEVEN

MIRACLE RISING (6)
has been freshened since his last outing when claiming the silver in the DJA final. Stepping cleanly to find the front he was under pressure at the 500m when MONARO MIA swept up yet he fought gamely to go under by 3m. From the 10m impost he looks well placed.

QUIETLY SPOKEN (1) made the most of a good alley under mobile conditions to take them all the way here 4 starts back. Since that win she hasn’t been too far away in each of 3 events, the latest when finding the line in good order. With a cosy run on offer look for her taking the closing shot.

SCORCHED (3) snagged back to the pegs last start and chased home soundly behind MISTER GUNSEN. Buried in the run 2 starts back and never spotting an opening, he has podium claims.

SOUTHERN ALPS (5) chased home in good order to grab the silver behind IVANOV over the 2138m here 3 starts back. Forget he has gone around his past 2, he can be much sharper in this.

SELECTIONS: MIRACLE RISING (6), QUIETLY SPOKEN (1), SCORCHED (3), SOUTHERN ALPS (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MIRACLE RISING (6) to win
