RACE TWO

HOT ROD HEAVEN (1) was a winner here 3 starts back from gate 5 over the 2040m trip when able to finish over the top to claim a 2m victory. His 2 runs since that win have been from wide gates where he has been forced to snag back early and with the improved gate he looks to get his chance.

READLIY (7) hasn’t been far away in recent starts in Saturday night company and lands the gate to get a perfect trip here. From 3 back on the markers 2 starts back he used inside lines to grab the bronze and last starts was under 7m from the winner MACHEASY. Look for him sprinting late.

FRENCH GLOBE (2) set a solid tempo here 2 starts back when only grabbed in the closing stages and followed that with a strong win. He found them a bit sharp last start but is better suited here.

SON OF MARA (9) returns to Qld and joins the Mal Charlton barn. He will be 1st up since June and has opened the pipes with a tidy trial and will take benefit on his efforts from this.

SELECTIONS: HOT ROD HEAVEN (1), READLIY (7), FRENCH GLOBE (2), SON OF MARA (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

LETHAL PROMISE (5) was too strong from the breeze here 3 starts back over the sprint trip after starting from gate 3 and proving too tough. He followed that with a half-neck 3rd and then a 4m 3rd from the 2nd line, both when working to the breeze. Moving 1 position closer aids his chances.

ALWAYS AT NIGHT (9) found himself a long way back in the pack at AP 2 starts back and was closing out strongly when 3m from the winner. Buried in the run last start from inside the 2nd line over the 2040m he sprinted well to arrive for the prize once the gaps arrived. With even luck he can repeat.

SWAFFHAM WATER (1) claimed victory here 5 starts back when finding the pegs from gate 4 and then taking a trail. Hitting the line in good order last start, look for her probing for the openings.
JACKS GAMBIT (7) had been racing well without much reward until finding his race at Marburg 2 starts back when proving too strong form the breeze. From the gate he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: LETHAL PROMISE (5), ALWAYS AT NIGHT (9), SWAFFHAM WATER (1), JACKS GAMBIT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: LETHAL PROMISE (5) to win

RACE FOUR

VELOCE BELLA (6)
should appreciate this class of opponent after meeting stronger types in recent outings. Beaten 8m last start in strong time over the AP mile, she was luckless here 2 starts back when unable to find position and forced to restrain. The gate hurts but she is up to the challenge.

ROYAL TAZ (2) was buried away on the pegs last start and was never in the mix when MIDNIGHT BENDER skipped clear to post a big victory. This is his best gate for some time and hustled out he can look to find the pegs with the option of setting the tempo looking to give him some hope in this.

GETOUTNWALK (10) resumes from a break to kick-off her 4YO term with her last start of her 3YO season a tidy effort behind ARGYLE BEACH. Given 2 trials to prepare, she can be around the mark.

OUR CHAMPION (1) was too far back last start and faced a forlorn task trying to make ground behind MIDNIGHT BENDER. Better suited with a cosy trip he can chime into the exotics here.

SELECTIONS: VELOCE BELLA (6), ROYAL TAZ (2), GETOUTNWALK (10), OUR CHAMPION (1)
SUGGESTED BET: VELOCE BELLA (6) to win

RACE FIVE

MY MAGIC MERLIN (4) seems to have had plenty of chances to claim a C0 victory and has managed to place in 13 of 19 appearances this season without cashing in for victory. Facing the breeze last start he was 6m from the winner SHEZA GALVINATOR which followed successive 2nds. This time???

GETINANHANGON (1) returned from a spell when fading out after looking to lead throughout here 3 starts back. Taken to Marburg 2nd up he worked across to find the front from gate 4 and was never in danger to score by 9m. With the benefit of the gate he will give a sight in this.

PURPLE SHADES (2) has started 3 times in Qld for a win and 2 placings, all recorded here on the triangle. He arrived for the prize 2 starts back and settling handy from the gate will be thereabouts.

WHATA STRIDE (3) is still searching for an elusive win yet has managed to place in 8 of her past 10 starts. Buried in the run last start she worked home well and has podium claims again.

SELECTIONS: MY MAGIC MERLIN (4), GETINANHANGON (1), PURPLE SHADES (2), WHATA STRIDE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MY MAGIC MERLIN (4) to win

RACE SIX

ITZ MAJOR LOOK (9)
started from inside the 2nd line last start and was soon buried away in the run. Forcing clear and peeling wide around the home turn he was hitting the line in good style and there was plenty to like about how he finished off. Back to 3YO only company suits and this is within reach.

TAXI METER (5) rolled forward from gate 5 at AP over the mile 3 starts back and finding the front was then able to dictate in a very steady opening 800m and then hold on for the win. Only a half-head from the handy MONTANA CHIEF last start, he can look to get himself in the contest.

SEA HAWKE (7) will need some factors to go his way but if able to see space with track to work with can be in the mix. 3rd to LIFES BLACK last start, that followed a neck 2nd and he will be probing.

TORQUE WITH ESTEEM (1) will take good benefit from her latest start when 1st up off a break. Starting from gate 6 she did her share of work in the run and with the options from the gate can feature.

SELECTIONS: ITZ MAJOR LOOK (9), TAXI METER (5), SEA HAWKE (7), TORQUE WITH ESTEEM (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ITZ MAJOR LOOK (9) to win

RACE SEVEN

ALWAYS A JEWEL (1) speared across from gate 4 here 2 starts back to find the pegs and then was only grabbed in the latter stages, holding on for the silver. Not suited last start when forced to work from gate 4 and fading out from a tough run, she looks to get her chance to take them all the way.

BE ON THE SLY (10)
resumes from a spell after starting his career as a 7YO and facing the starter on 15 occasions. A winner of 1 race he had progressed well through and had been meeting some slightly better types by seasons end than he meets here. Not seen at the trials he should take improvement.

TASCOTT LADY (5) was locked away on the pegs here 2 starts back and she was charging home in the closing stages and was only beaten a head. The gate hurts but she is right in the fight.

SAND SAFARI (6) was hitting the line strongly over the AP 2138m trip 2 starts back and was strong to the line when 6m from the winner. Despite the gate she can be round the mark in this.

SELECTIONS: ALWAYS A JEWEL (1), BE ON THE SLY (10), TASCOTT LADY (5), SAND SAFARI (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ALWAYS A JEWEL (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

GIGANTIC JASPER (1)
speared out from gate 3 last start to find the pegs first and over the 1780m trip was looking to take them all the way. Fighting hard he was 9m from the in-form winner SHEZA GALVINATOR. This is an easier assignment and from the improved gate he can bust the maiden tag.

LIVING FREE (8) will need some favours to go his way in the run here but with even luck he should be bale to find the podium. He worked home in good fashion to grab the silver at Marburg 2 starts back and last start can be forgiven after striking trouble. Look for a solid run in this.

BAMBOLE NERE (9) started from wide gates at her past 2 starts owing to her starting manners with her run 2 starts back a solid effort wide off the track. With the right cart into the contest she can place.

SISTER FEELGOOD (4) struck trouble here last start which then saw her a long way off them after snagging back from gate 6. With the right run it would be no surprise to see her in the numbers.

SELECTIONS: GIGANTIC JASPER (1), LIVING FREE (8), BAMBOLE NERE (9), SISTER FEELGOOD (4)
SUGGESTED BET: GIGANTIC JASPER (1) to win

RACE NINE

MISS INVASION (8)
is still looking to open her Qld account and in this line-up she looks to get her chance. Settling well back in the pack last start she couldn’t make any impression on the margin late. Going a little better than her returns suggest, she is worth another chance in an open trot.

DAY TOURER (10) was cleanly away last start and from the 10m tape was soon in front and looking to take them all the way over the AP 2138m trip. Setting even fractions in front he was only grabbed late when finishing a 1m 2nd. Despite the 20m impost, he will be in the mix with a safe start.

GALAXY HUNTER (11) can be forgiven for his last start after making an early error that ended his chances. Only narrowly beaten 3 starts back he can’t be taken lightly if safe in his gait.

MY DAD ANGUS (4) resumes from a spell after making errors in the early stages at his past 2 starts. Holding on for the bronze here 3 starts back when looking to go all the way, he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: MISS INVASION (8), DAY TOURER (10), GALAXY HUNTER (11), MY DAD ANGUS (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS INVASION (8) each-way
