It’ll take a big effort but trainer Kelly Schweida will attempt to equal his best city training performance at Doomben on Wednesday.

The in-form Schweida stable has four runners engaged with Park Chinois in the Class 5 Handicap, Meet Mr Taylor (Class 3 cg), Brilee Rose (Class 3 fm) and Joymaker (Benchmark 65 fm).

Schweida has trained five winners in one day on separate tracks in north Queensland and has trained four winners twice at the provincials and in the metropolitan area in the State’s south-east.

His best training feat was four winners at a city meeting at Doomben in November and he equalled the effort on a TAB track with four wins at Beaudesert on New Year’s Day.

Mr Meet Taylor is one of Schweida’s promising sprinters and he’s hopeful the four-year-old will progress to the Brisbane winter carnival.

The son of Turfffontein is unbeaten in three starts and is resuming following his last start win at Doomben in August.

“He’s had three starts and won them all but he’s got to kick up to the next level,” Schweida said.

“I had him in at Eagle Farm last Saturday but he drew wide so we decided to go this way with him.

“It’s a hard race tomorrow and it won’t be a “gimmie” but he’ll race well.

“The form line around him is very good but there’s a few in this race that go pretty good as well.

“He’s only raced up to 1100 metres so far but he should get further and hopefully he’ll measure up to the winter.”

Meet Mr Taylor will go into his return with the benefit of a recent barrier trial when he ran third over 840 metres at Doomben on January 3.

“He’s very promising but he’s still very raw and green,” Schweida said.

“He’s got a lot of ability and he just doesn’t lay down.”

Schweida said Mr Meet Taylor was a nervous type last campaign which is why be pulled up stumps after his August win at Doomben.
