RACE TWO

MONTANA EXPRESS (6) started fav last time out at Redcliffe from gate 10 over the 2040m. Sent forward in the early stages to find the breeze he was fighting hard to the wire when 2m from the winner in claiming the silver. He can do things wrong early, but the small field is in his favour.

NIKALONG HENRY (5) can be forgiven last start when making an early error and losing his chances. The start prior over the sprint trip he eased from gate 7 to go for luck and short-cuts up the peg-line when chasing home against the tempo. Settling much closer here, this looks an ideal assignment.

JAKES ARK (2) resumes from a break and returns to the Dixon barn after a 15-start campaign in NSW. Last seen back in May at Tamworth, he has had a local trial to prepare and looks a place hope.

SELECTIONS: MONTANA EXPRESS (6), NIKALONG HENRY (5), JAKES ARK (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MONTANA EXPRESS (6) to win

RACE THREE

LAVROS TEXAS (5) will take benefit from his latest start when 1st up from a freshen in a Sat night stand-start. Finding the 1x1 trail from the front tape, he was sound to the line when 5m from the winner ALS LAW. His 2nd round DJA run was good and with a tidy mobile record, gets his chance.

ROSEHILL MAGIC (1) stepped cleanly to take up the running last start and once in control over the long trip was able to take them all the way. Luckless 2 starts back when only 4m in arrears, her mobile record is good and with the peg-line benefits can be in a position to challenge in this.

HELLBOUND (8) returns from a spell after his season was shut down after an error saw him banished to the trials. With a nice pipe opener and all his 8 wins from the mobile, he stays under notice 1st up.

MATATOKI (6) might appreciate this after finding things a bit tough in recent outings. Making an error last start that ended his chances, his previous 4 were off big handicaps. He can be sharper.

SELECTIONS: LAVROS TEXAS (5), ROSEHILL MAGIC (1), HELLBOUND (8), MATATOKI (6)
SUGGESTED BET: LAVROS TEXAS (5) to win

RACE FOUR

SIR JUJON (2)
set the tempo last start from gate 1 when able to get a nice breather through the 2nd panel. Looking to lift the speed, he couldn’t last it out and faded, albeit only 5m from the winner. A tidy 2nd when chasing the start prior, he can look to see it out this time.

FEEL THE THUNDER (4) held the pocket trail from gate 1 last start and with the right trip used the passing lane to arrive for the prize. That followed a pair of runs from wide gates and with the winning confidence gained last time out can look to build on it here.

IL MAXIMUS (3) found conditions to suit 2 runs back when finishing best from the 2nd line to claim a 6m victory. Closing hard last start to get within a head of the winner DE VOYAGE, he looms ominously in this line-up.

FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (5) sat back in the pack from the 2nd line last start at Redcliffe and had too much to offer in claiming a 2m victory. Fitter for the outing, she can be in the mix again here.

SELECTIONS: SIR JUJON (2), FEEL THE THUNDER (4), IL MAXIMUS (3), FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

GOLIGHTLY (5) will take benefit and experience from his race debut last time out. Eased back from gate 7, he went to the pegs and was finding the line in nice style to be 8m from the winner and in-form JAMIES BAD BOY. Back to maiden only company, he can get on the board.

GIDUP DARCY (3) didn’t show much when resuming from a spell at Marburg to start his 3YO term and was well beaten in red figures. Wide off the track from the 2nd line when 2nd up at Redcliffe it was a sharper effort and with an improved gate can look to challenge.

FEEL THE THRILL (6) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, the latest a nice effort after striking trouble in the run and recovering to be 3m in arrears. The gate hurts but he can be thereabouts.

COULDNTMISAFALCON (8) is a 3YO Falcon Seelster filly on debut for Daren Garrard. The 1st foal to race of the 3-win mare Couldntdecide, she has trialled well enough to suggest she can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: GOLIGHTLY (5), GIDUP DARCY (3), FEEL THE THRILL (6), COULDNTMISAFALCON (8)
SUGGESTED BET: GOLIGHTLY (5) to win

RACE SIX

ROLL WITH ROCKY (5) has had an interrupted journey since arriving in Qld. Arriving following a spell and sent to the races without a public trial, he was scratched at the barrier following a mis-hap. Not comfortable at what was his 1st race start, he was better last start without any luck and gets an opportunity to show his wares.

GOLD REACTOR (6) sat back in the running line from the 2nd line last start over the 2138m and arrived with a well-timed run to take a 7m victory. Looking for short-cuts up the inside the start prior when attacking the line strongly, with even luck in transit he can swoop late here.

JOVIAL JULIE (3) didn’t have much go her way last start from gate 12 when chasing home, a smart field head-lined by JIGGLE AND JIVE. Tough in the breeze 2 starts back, she has claims in this.

PACIFIC COIN (8) will need a slice of luck but with the soft trip will make a closing play. A big winner at Tamworth 4 starts back, he closed well at Redcliffe 2 back and can be chiming in here.

SELECTIONS: ROLL WITH ROCKY (5), GOLD REACTOR (6), JOVIAL JULIE (3), PACIFIC COIN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ROLL WITH ROCKY (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

MY SECRET BEACH (2) will strip fitter following his latest run when 1st up in Qld after a spell. Starting from gate 10 over the mile, he eased 3-wide at the 600m but stalled as the 3rd panel was put down in sizzling 27.1. Grinding to the line he was only beaten 10m and up to 2138m gets his chance.

KEAYANG SPONGE BOB (1) was finding the line in nice style last start to grab the bronze when 6m from the winner LIFES A JUNGLE. He worked hard from gate 6 the start prior and didn’t have much left in the finish which followed a luckless run from inside the 2nd line. The improved gate is a plus.

PAY ME INTEREST (7) doesn’t have many favours from the wide gate as a result of wayward barrier manners 2 starts back. Charging home from gate 12 last start, if the pace is hot, she can swoop.

STORMONT STAR (9) is still searching for an elusive AP victory after 16 attempts. He worked home well when 4m away at Redcliffe last start and settling in a good position can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: MY SECRET BEACH (2), KEAYANG SPONGE BOB (1), PAY ME INTEREST (7), STORMONT STAR (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MY SECRET BEACH (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

SOLE AMBITION (6) arrives from the North Island and is 1st up for Donny Smith. The regally bred 4YO arrives with an excellent record of 15: 4-5-3 and form around some top performers. Given a smart pipe-opener here on the track where he was never asked for an effort, he can start with a bang.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (1) was devoid of luck last start when sitting back in the field and having plenty to offer but no space to show his moves. Eased back and too far back against the tempo the start prior, he can use his early speed and with the peg-line benefits can make a play to atone.

TAKITIMU EXPRESS (9) made the most of finding space when the field opened up last start after a perfect run on the pegs. Swooping hard he arrived to claim the qualifying win and with a cheap run will be probing for gaps.

HANDSOME HERO (8) will take good benefit from his latest start when 1st up in Qld off the back of close to 4 months off the scene. Looking for clear space he grabbed the silver and will be searching for runs again.

SELECTIONS: SOLE AMBITION (6), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (1), TAKITIMU EXPRESS (9), HANDSOME HERO (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 4 / 1-8-9

RACE NINE

THE DOORMAN (4) was stung in a sub 27 opener when looking to dictate 3 starts back that left him prone to a late attack. Not far away from the 2nd line here 2 starts back, he found the right conditions last time in leading all the way. Using his early speed, he can look to see it out again here.

IM NO OUTLAW (8) will need a slice of luck form this gate but he is going well enough to challenge if he can see open track in time. Eased back from gate 5 last start he was too far back when looking to make his run. Beaten by a bad gate the start prior, he just needs a rub of the green here to chime in.

SAINT KILDA BEACH (6) has the wide gate to overcome but she has been racing well without much going her way of late. Beaten by gate 7 when restraining last start, she has podium claims here.

CAPTAIN COSMONAUT (11) dropped in to find the pocket trail last start after an early dip for the front and was clinging on when 4m from the winner FLYING WINGARD. He can place again.

SELECTIONS: THE DOORMAN (4), IM NO OUTLAW (8), SAINT KILDA BEACH (6), CAPTAIN COSMONAUT (11)
SUGGESTED BET: THE DOORMAN (4) to win
