RACE TWO

MAJOR KIWI (5) ended a 6 win streak last start when finishing a 2m runner-up to INA GREAT PLACE. Settling in the 1x1 over the 2138m he was driving to the line but couldn’t quite get there in time. Versatile he can look to slide across to find position and gets the draw advantage to turn the tables.

INA GREAT PLACE (10) was snagged back from gate 7 in the claiming challenge final last start and came with a sustained run to get within 1m of the winner MONTANA FALCON. His win 3 starts back when working in the run was a top effort and in this type of claimer he is a huge threat.

COUNTDOWN (2) enjoyed the return to Qld when he was too strong over the 2040m trip at Redcliffe after getting away from the pegs and circling to the breeze. He can take an early shot here and is in the mix.

RORY MACH (9) was buried away in a conditioned event here on Tues and was making good closing metres in securing the silver behind ADMIRAL BRONSKI. With the right trail through he can close out.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR KIWI (5), INA GREAT PLACE (10), COUNTDOWN (2), RORY MACH (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

PATERNITY SUIT (1) had conditions to suit last start after landing the trail from inside the 2nd line and once he was angled into space sprinted hard to forge away to a 5m victory. Still yet to land a 2138m win at AP, this looks perhaps his best chance to break that stat.

JANUARY (8) will be glued to the back of the 1 and be coiled and ready for the closing shot when the gap presents. Charging home last start to get within a nose of the winner she finished ahrd to take out a mares qualifier 3 starts back. Hitting the lane with momentum she will be challenging.

TROUBLESOME DAVE (2) scored at his AP debut 4 starts back after taking the trail and followed that with a tough head 2nd to NONE BETTOR. Back to the front line is a big plus and he can’t be ignored
.
NOVAK (3) makes his Qld debut for visiting trainer James Ponsonby and arrives with a strong last start win at Penrith in solid time set from the front. He stays under notice in this.

SELECTIONS: PATERNITY SUIT (1), JANUARY (8), TROUBLESOME DAVE (2), NOVAK (3)
SUGGESTED BET: PATERNITY SUIT (1) to win

RACE FOUR

TRES VITE (12)
was taking on the South East Oaks last start when striking trouble that ended her chances. Sent North on an Oaks trail, she arrived with 3 successive wins with 2 of those in NSW off 2nd line gates. She has no favours from this alley but can recoup some travel expenses in this.

AGRO BART (11) started a very short priced fav last start at Hamilton and while he was green in the run, he displayed plenty of ability, ripping home in a slick closing panel. With over one month between runs and further experience, he can look to inject into this.

RUHTREBO (10) looked to take them all the way last start over the 2138m trip but went too hard in front and faded out. That followed a nice win when controlling and he can feature despite the gate.

SLIPPERY JADE (1) can look to make the most of the gate advantage here and control the speed from the front. Not suited in 3 consecutive 2nd line gates she can be a big improver from in front.

SELECTIONS: TRES VITE (12), AGRO BART (11), RUHTREBO (10), SLIPPERY JADE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: TRES VITE (12) to win

RACE FIVE

JUST SAY GO (5) should appreciate this class of race after taking on stronger contests in recent outings. His past 2 starts have been from 2nd line gates where the effort has been solid and he has ran home well. He might just have enough early pace to take it up here and he looks to get his chance.

REGAL NIGHTSHADE (11) will be fitter following 2 runs back from a break and will find this a shade easier than what he has met his past 2. Taken back from gate 5 when 1st up he closed out in good order and last start was gunned down when leading. With the right cart into this he can feature.

MONUMENTAL (9) took on a much stronger conditioned race last start when buried on the pegs and held his ground to the line. He can look to find early position here and back to this grade suits.

BROADWATER (4) was working wide off the track last start and couldn’t eat into the margin when down the line behind EARL JUJON. He can get forward here and closer to the speed can podium.

SELECTIONS: JUST SAY GO (5), REGAL NIGHTSHADE (11), MONUMENTAL (9), BROADWATER (4)
SUGGESTED BET: JUST SAY GO (5) to win

RACE SIX

TOMEARA (1)
has been screaming out for a marble in the right race and he gets it here. Runner-up in 5 successive starts he run into the smart SLICE OF HEAVEN and then last start was tracking home nicely from gate 11. He will need to hustle early but once in control he looks hard to stop.

SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (2) worked home in good order from back in the pack last start to grab the bronze behind OHOKA SQUIRE. Mixing his form somewhat, he arrived in good style to score 5 starts back and settling closer to the speed here can see him in the mix.

DUKE JUJON (9) took on claiming company last start and was sent forward to work in the run when finishing 4th to STIRLING WILLIAM. With the right trail he looks better suited in this line-up.

LIVING GRAND (6) settled in the pocket trail at Redcliffe last start and chased home to claim the bronze. Better suited in the running line he can look to roll forward to a position and has claims.

SELECTIONS: TOMEARA (1), SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (2), DUKE JUJON (9), LIVING GRAND (6)
SUGGESTED BET: TOMEARA (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

FASTESTGIRLINTOWN (11) makes her Qld debut and arrives with a last start 2nd at Bathurst when spearing out from gate 6 to find the front and only grabbed in the closing stages. A tidy winner in restricted company at Canberra 3 starts back, she will need some favours but strikes a winnable race.

MACH TORQUE (2) took on the South East Oaks last start and from the ace gate secured the trail and wasn’t disgraced behind RED CHARMER. Apart from the Oaks when facing a class rise, this is her best gate in some time and she can look to make the most of it.

ADRIFT (9) took them all the way last start at Redcliffe and was dominant to the line in posting a 15m margin. That followed a tough half-head 2nd. Pressing through to find position, he is right in this.

ARK TEAMO (1) has struck trouble at her past 2 starts of the Triad final and then last time when resuming from a freshen. With better luck and a cosy trip look for a sharper effort.

SELECTIONS: FASTESTGIRLINTOWN (11), MACH TORQUE (2), ADRIFT (9), ARK TEAMO (1)
SUGGESTED BET: FASTESTGIRLINTOWN (11) to win

RACE EIGHT

OUR WALL STREET WOLF (5)
has been superb since arriving in Qld this trip for Team Frisby and was not far off making it 4 wins in succession when beaten 1.5m behind HASHTAG last time out. His run 2 starts back was a top effort  when working in the run and putting them away. This looks ideal.

MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (1) did some early work when looking to get forward here on Tues and then couldn’t finish it off. With the inside advantage in the small field he has the options and looks to get his chance.

ALWAYS MY MATE (6) took on a small field 4 starts back from the outside gate and was taken back and closed out strongly. Off the 2nd line at his 3 starts since, back to a small field suits and he can land in the money.

SELECTIONS: OUR WALL STREET WOLF (5), MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (1), ALWAYS MY MATE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR WALL STREET WOLF (5) to win
